Trullin’, trollin’, trollin’!!
Keep those Russkies trollin’ . . .
I wanted to ask @knucklehead – errr, rimshot – when they were having the next gun show in Petrograd. My wife’s would like to see L’Hermitage and maybe we could time it so I could catch a gunshow. I’d like to score a tactical nuke or three – well-known Constitutional Expert and Member of Congress Steve Scalise says my right to bear arms is unlimited and I’m embarking on a program of neighborhood nuclear superiority.
Since the government is poisoning the atmosphere with chemtrails (see: Kelli Ward) I suppose citizens should be able to have Stinger anti-aircraft missiles. You know, to neutralize the government’s aggression.
Universal background checks should have been the norm decades ago. Along with many other steps.
I want an Abrams A-1 tank. Complete. Heck, there’s a pizza shop on 1st ave here in Tucson that’s famous for displaying military wheeled and tracked hardware in their front parking lot. If they can do it, why not me? Besides the Abrams sports a 120 mm smooth bore cannon and a Ma Deuce 50 cal. machine gun. Necessary items when elk hunting in the Arizona hinterlands…
I’m unclear what good universal background checks accomplish if there isn’t unanimous agreement of disqualifying factors that result in denial of purchase. Is the buyer mentally ill? To what degree? What can you suffer from and be denied? ANY mental illness? Alcoholism?
What crimes in your past disqualify you? Just felonies? Vehicular homicide is a felony, but is certainly doesn’t point to an inability to responsibly own a gun. Yet domestic violence can be a felony that is plead down to a misdemeanor, and we’d all agree someone prone to serial beatings of their spouse should’t have a gun.
Actually a great many felony cases result in misdemeanor convictions. Should felons with good attorneys finessing these pleas own guns, yet poor people stuck with their felony convictions be barred?
Exactly: If a good guy with a nuclear bomb had been allowed to attend to that concert in Las Vegas, that bad guy with a machine gun would have been taken out right quickly. But NOOOO!!! The jackboot of the federal socialist-crats was padding good citizens down for their nuclear arms at the entrance. LibTURDS!
Setting those bounds is one of the reasons we have a legislature. They won’t be perfect – the results of a political process rarely are – but they will almost certainly be better than what we have at the moment: nothing at all.
And the GOP …well some in the GOP are for utterly unfettered access to guns for everybody. I would not want someone living near me who, theoretically for the purposes of this discussion, would be under a court order concerning spousal abuse getting to buy a gun. He might shoot his wife and then me just because I heard the altercation.
This is just a crude example. Certainly there are people who should not have any access to guns. Then again there’s the example of Australia where there was an ugly multiple murder spree and the national government responded by making it very very difficult to get a gun. The result was a dramatic drop in gun violence. Of course Australia is not America.
