Wasn’t it said last night or today that the “Gang of Four” would all vote the same way?
Let’s just remember they all know stuff that we don’t.
Flake wants to be a “post-trump” politician at some point, or get an “honorable” (aka high playing) job in the bowels of the republican influence operation, Murkowski has to contend with the Alaska politics (the Native Americans strongly opposed KAV) plus is basically honorable, if very, very conservative. Neither can vote to confirm if the Republicans vote to railroad.
And were I Collins (or frankly Gardner (CO) or Tillis (NC), both of which have big targets on their backs) or Joni Earnst (who is not so popular in Iowa) I would want a delay. NO way you want to vote to railroad Kav and have it come back to bite you in what will likely be a very difficult presidential year.
Yes, and for Trump to appear to be so conciliatory could be a sure sign of bad news coming.
So, does the elf on the shelf order the investigation? Will he pull punches to get back in trump’s favor? Not sure the FBI feels like doing trump any favors. This ain’t dead, yet.
Never happen. Kavanaugh’s been groomed for the Court his entire career. His keepers in the Koch Oligarch Network have been promising it to him for 30 years. And he fuckin’ deserves it! He went to Georgetown Prep! He did everything right! These uppity bitches need to get the fuck out of his way and let him do his job!!!1!
Every new barrier that rises to meet him will only stoke his anger and sense of entitlement. If they actually send him to prison, he’ll have to be sedated 24/7 to keep him from demanding to be seated on the Court.
It certainly was reported that they conferred post-hearing, but i didn’t see/hear any reporting that they’d formed some “pact”, as you’ve indicated.
So, anyone think it’s possible Kav would withdraw if it looks like a real investigation will happen?
He’s such an idiot he has no idea of what to do, say, feel in any circumstance unless it has to do with HIM. But at least he was civil.
Yeah, he’s been VERY subdued about this whole thing. Trump typically gets angry. Something is up
I agree that Collins was “in the bag” she is a hack. However, I don’t see her ever voting to confirm w/o an investigation if Murkowski and Flake want one, and if either at the end of the day votes “NO” on Kavanaugh, I don’t see she is a Yes. She is really vulnerable on a Yes vote if any other republicans vote no.
Collins is ultimately a coward.

President Donald Trump on Friday said he would be “totally reliant” on what Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and other Republican senators want to do regarding the reopening of an FBI background investigation into Brett Kavanaugh.
FWIW:
According to Politico reporter Burgess Everett, Manchin, Collins, Murkowski and Sen. Joe Donnelly, R-IN, are all expected to vote the same way but that whether the vote is yea or nay isn’t known.
Good grief. I just noticed the paper listed Donnelly as an R. Why do journalists frequently make that mistake?
On a more practical level, what is the earliest BK could sit on the court?
Can he join the court in mid-session?
Or they have their fingers in a very ill wind. Even before the hearing, the majority was in the believe Ford column. I’ve no doubt the needle’s buried now.
His dosage level?
Trump knows effective TeeVee. And he knows that Dr. Blasey Ford was very effective on TV yesterday.
Gardner was the one pushing the anonymous fourth accuser the other day. I saw that as a naked attempt to muddy the waters.
He has been quite the Trump sycophant as head of the NRSC.
Donnelly already announced he is a no
‘…would Kav withdraw…’?
Doubt it - he’s boxed himself in now, after dodging Durbin’s suggestion of an FBI investigation.
For Kav, it’s “Ride or Die”.
(so to speak)
