She actually shows occasional flashes of decency and common sense. No wonder she was teabagged out in a primary. Too bad for them she won anyway as a write-in candidate (which is very hard to do and shows how crazy the bagger was).

This might just be able to pass. I see the entire Democratic Caucus holding strong on this one, even Manchin, and there are several Republicans who need to at least appear to be a little less partisan as they head into their 2016 reelection. If it makes it out of the Senate, I can see Boehner actually taking this up as he heads out the door.

Yeah, I think that is him, might have been taken at a debate. I can’t remember where Palin stood on that race, but I’m sure it was the wrong side.

She actively backed him; he comes out of the same “Independent Alaskan” successionist movement that Palin and her hubby do.

IIRC, the establishment Goopers actively backed him, obviously thinking the Gooper with his name on the ballot had the better chance.
After winning, she vowed to make nice with the Democrats. It’s nice to see her deliver.

Yes. Joe Miller, whose security detail handcuffed a journalist to a chair for 30 minutes for daring to ask him a question at a Town Hall event in the hallway outside the event. He is another possibly crazy Yale Law School grad like the other guy Stewart Rhodes of Oathkeepers in another news story in TPM today.

She may not be as bad as most of the other GOPers all the time, but 4 out of 5 times she is as bad as the others. As an Alaskan I have a hard time saying nice things about her just because she occasionally acts like a normal person with normal human feelings. It is easy for her to appear decent when her opponent for the Senate was the likes of Tea Partier Joe Miller.

It’s good to have your perspective from Alaska. For us outsiders living in this world of GOP absolutism, she is an occasional breath of fresh air and sanity.
In WI, I’m stuck with Ron Johnson who is both stupid and crazy ALL of the time.

I hear you re Johnson. I suspect he may moderate some of his views (or at least appear to do so) as the election draws near. Feingold would be a huge improvement for WI and the nation. I do get frustrated when the national media only reports Murkowski’s occasional progressive vote, but none of the others. It skews as we say up north “Outside” impressions of her.
Just 5 minutes ago I saw an ad slamming Feingold on the Iran deal ??? I love Feingold but he cannot be a campaign finance purist this time around as he is facing truckloads of Koch money. We need him. If he gets elected, WI will once again have two senators we can be proud of … Tammy Baldwin is amazing.
As for Murkowski reporting, lockstep isn’t news but one or two break-out votes are. The outside perception becomes skewed.
