Discussion: Mulvaney Pushes CFPB Name Change Amid Reducing Enforcement Actions

Reminds me of my working days, and a manager who had no clue what to do, so he embarked on a project to adopt and enforce a dress code.

Might seem subtle but it certainly deemphasizes the word “consumer.”

I had expected the new proposed name to be “Corporate Financial Protection Board”…

Thought about it but decided it was a little too on the nose.

Soon, companies will get the right to vote in proportion to their loyalty to the Rethugs.

Nice glasses. I guess this is what Harry Potter would be today if Malfoy had influenced him instead of the other way around.

The Republican answer to government waste is to ‘rebrand’ and spend thousands and thousands updating letterhead, checks, envelopes, documents, signage and countless hours in meetings on new logo design.

The consumer rights movement that came to fruition in the 60’s through the 70’s has benefited people enormously. From auto safety to safer toys and household products. As expected with Mulvaney and others in the administration they seek to gut these protections not only because they don’t believe in the role of government and are captive of the financial sector but they are engaged in hippie punching as well.
