Discussion: Mueller Won’t Allow Trump To Answer Interview Questions In Writing

I have a 20-year-old dusky lorikeet (a small parrot) named Clarence who I have never taught how to do anything, but he taught himself to say about 20 words and phrases on his own and also figured out which button on my universal remote control he could press with his beak in order to turn the TV on (he demands the TV to be on when his is in the living room. It is Clarence’s world - I just happen to live in it).
After reading about Trump’s testimony preparation, I have decided to have Clarence run for the presidency in 2020. And he was born in the US, so they can’t pull any of that birther bullshit.

Clarence/Anybody But Trump 2020!

A somewhat widely shared consensus exists he can’t be indicted for a crime while in office. There will never be 67 Senators cobbled together to convict him in an impeachment trial. Why the hell should he care to mount a defense? He’s essentially immune to punishment or sanction until Jan 20, 2021.

Of course Trump has put forth a serious fact and a rational argument: “FAKE NEWS!”

Lovely bird. And I bet those feathers are all his with no combover in sight (or would that be one of those flashy cockatoos?)

Although all the projections you make are grim, I also get the sinking feeling that it could turn out exactly as you outline.

I’m continuing to hope for different outcomes and we both prove to be mistaken.

Mueller Won’t Allow Trump To Answer Interview Questions In Writing

The mind boggles with possible one-liners
–After the first sentence, Trump would start writing about himself
–Crayon doesn’t scan well
–Trump would write whatever he was hearing on Fox & Friends
–The writing would be smudged with Big Mac sauce
–Rudy would write the answers for him

etc.

Giuliani also suggested that he wants to wait until after Trump returns from a summit with North Korea on denuclearization to prepare the President for an interview with Mueller.

You mean Trump isn’t prepared to tell the truth right now?

Trump is 71. His habits and methods are set, he’s averse to change or wise counsel. He suffers few true penalities for his mistakes. Those in league with him, and those opposed, somehow emerge from their contact with him tainted and worse for the association. Regret, dismay and defeat cling to them like the ash and embers from a forest fire.

I don’t think I’ll be proven mistaken.

Trump doesn’t read or write very well as we have been told. So mueller is just making things easier to decipher.
If trump did get to answer in writing, this is all trumps writes and it only answers 1 question:

This is an important new revelation: We now know Trump is capable of writing.

Mueller should allow written responses to his questions, but only if the president signs each answer with “Trump the Chicken-hearted.”

It’s quite foreign to him—like Melania—so it requires effort on his part.

Yes, important national security matters as he’s briefed by Fox & Friends in between the commercial breaks … so hard to concentrate.

Giuliani has specifically said he wants Trump to not be under oath when responding to Mueller’s questions. Although lying to Mueller would still be a crime, I think both Giuliani and Trump are stupid enough to believe were Trump caught in a lie this would somehow provide wiggle room to avoid outright perjury charges.

“Um, I guess my recollection when answering that was a bit hazy, huh? Oh well, good thing I wasn’t under oath. Give me a couple days, I’ll have Rudy send you over the correct info and we’ll call it even, OK?”
