Anyone who hasn’t yet figured out that Matthews is a self-important, establishment-supporting-whore, media mega-twit, please wake up.
What’s even worse for a political pundit, he thinks “Reagan Democrats” are still a thing.
"It is unfortunate to see the continuous inaccuracies and misrepresentations made by the media of Mrs. Trump as anything less than the independently successful woman that she is.”
Didn’t realize that marrying a rich man twice your age was a sign of business success. We always called it “Midlife Crisis Marries A Trophy.”
Of course, the measure of a woman is her hotness, right Chris?
Umm, what’s the big thing? Well, yes, as a long time member of the commentariat he should have been aware of the possibility of a live mike, but what’s the big thing?
The last time Chris got so excited, he said the same things about Oedipus Tex wearing a codpiece in a flight suit.
Folks, this is what MSNBC, er, BSRNC has become. They get rid of real journalists and truth tellers like Ed, Phil Donahue and Keith but they keep the corporate asskissers like Tweety, Morning Ho, Little Luke and Mrs. Greenspan.
Well, IMHO he’s being immature, superficial, and unsophisticated. There are lots of conventionally good-looking people around, and it’s not a thing you need to find remarkable or go on about. But if that’s not a concern in a major figure in the commentariat, you could deplore his lousy taste. It’s not a big thing, maybe, in the scheme of things. But the other night I heard sensible young man call his father “pathetic” for talking exactly this way about a random young woman he saw, and I agreed with the young man. I’d call it somewhere in the medium-thing range.
BREAKING NEWS: Men have penises and are attracted to women. More at 11.
I’m a liberal, but find loud mouthed, braying Chris Matthews intolerable. He is a jerk.
And this is exactly why rump bought Melania–so other men would say exactly this. I mean, it’s not like she’s Angela Merkle. The coin of her realm is her body.
Of course, if you were a woman that had to endure those comments in the workplace for most of her entire career, you may see it as something other than no big deal.
Edit: For those men who this comment went sailing over their heads, I was talking about women in general.
CHOL—chuckling out loud. You see some rich old gargoyle wheeling around the kind of woman that used to be called a “chorus girl,” well, that’s the whole story right there. He’s a glorified john, basically.
“Did you see her walk? Runway walk. My God is that good,” Matthews said, according to Variety. “I could watch that runway show."
To be fair, the above is as relevant and cogent as anything Brian “Glib” Williams has to offer.
I’m sure Mrs. Matthews appreciates this.
Endure what? This woman was a super model–we were supposed to ogle. And it’s not like Mathews said anything lewd. He complimented her for what she does. And that is all she does.
She might. If Chris gets all worked up, he lasts longer than 2 minutes.
The remark was uncalled for but it was not sexist. You can’t do that TPM. There was nothing disparaging or diminishing it it. It did not equate the woman as less than she is just because she’s a woman. He said he liked the way she looked ( most men do ) and the way she walked. He did not say…“nice tits on that bicth” or “man I’d like to grab that ass” or “well she maybe dumb but she’s got a body to die for” . Did he? He just said he liked the way she looked when she walked and did not degrade her in his remarks.
The woman is famous for appreciating her good looks.
But if she was being interviewed by Matthews and she told him she liked his show and thought he was “hot” there would not be an eyebrow raised. Folks would laugh. As they should because the remark, although it referred to his physical desirability, did not insult or degrade him along those lines.
It was a hot mike. The remark wasn’t for the public and never would have made it to the public if all the folks “so concerned” didn’t take it there.
Some of the TPM authors are capable of extreme bullshit. This bit is an example of desperate journalism. The only person wrongly insulted in any of it was Matthews by this author.
