Discussion: MoveOn Warns Clinton After Knocking Obama On Foreign Policy

Discussion for article #226279

I support Hillary but this comment about ‘leadership’ is disturbing. I do not want to ‘lead’ which is code for war…we have done enough harm with our meddling.

Simple fact, don’t do stupid stuff is not an organizing principle.

If we, as a nation, had adhered to the idea of not doing stupid stuff, the world would be a better place because as a nation, we have done some awful and stupid stuff in the area of foreign policy.

Excellent. Little bit of a brushback for Hillary. Anything that contains her foreign-policy hawkish tendencies–and remembers some of the POTUS 42 overseas blunders–is probably smart. Glad they did this.

America wouldnt be in IRAQ, again, if wasnt for Hillary “doing stupid shit” like voting for the Iraq war. In essence, Pres. Obama is cleaning up her shit.

Peter Beinhart correctly articulates HRC foreign policy problem(s) in Haaretz.

It is said that you form your political opinion in your youth, and carry that through out your life. If so remember that Hillary was a supporter of Barry Goldwater in 63-64.

She truly is a Hawk.

While I have always hoped to see Sec Clinton elected President, she won’t get there by undermining the current President or by trying to attract the right wing hawks. Her recent comments are very disturbing and I for one am compelled to take a wait and see posture on her potential candidacy. Never thought I would say that…

I wondered how long it would take for some more on the left to join me in thinking maybe Hillary Clinton crossed a line with her don’t do stupid stuff and Pres Obama not arming rebels in Syria. I don’t understand why so many on the Right and apparently the left too don’t understand why giving arms to rebels in Syria would not have been a smart move. We had no way of knowing who was the good guy and who was the bad guy.

Just look at the results in Iraq today. ISIS would not be so well armed today with American weapons had we not given them so freely to the Iraqi military. And in the case of Iraq we thought we knew who the good guys were.

Draft Warren, and watch Hill-Bill gild every Obama foreign policy lily within radar distance.

Does anyone get that hanging on a phrase is just so black and white. It only shows you what you think. It doesn’t say the President has no organizing principles. Sheesh. We’re phukt.

What’s MoveOn going to do…tell their people to Pull A Nader and vote for Cruz by the proxy of voting for the Green candidate?

Ms Clinton seems to have forgotten that Barak Obama won the Democratic nomination in '08 is because she supported the ‘stupid shit’ of Cheney/Bush in '03.
We don’t need another president that doesn’t learn from his/her mistakes.

It will be interesting to see if HRC can figure out things have changed since the 90’s and even '08.

So you agree that we do not really have a choice. Some system.

Hilary again, thinking she’s the inevitable democratic nominee, so she’s doing and saying stupid shit.

She certainly didn’t learn her lesson in 2008 when then Sen. Obama, the under dog beat her to the nomination.

This only accrues to Clinton’s benefit. The only organizations more disparaged than MoveOn by the rightstream media are the IRS and ACORN.

What, you have a problem with Secretary of State Lindsay Graham?
