Discussion for article #243207

It’s a matter of time. One of these idiots is going to use his weapon…it will happen. Armed stupidity.

I think it was actually Wright who threatened to kill the mayor. Yes, I’m sure I recall thousands cheering when he said that.
Prove me wrong!

Texans are racist xenophobes and some might be very nice people. I love Texans and Texans love me and I have a lot of Texan friends, but we have to be very careful with these people. We should identify them and put their names in a database and prevent them from crossing over state lines.

How about posting their home addresses?

Oh, Anonymous.

If someone came from Mars, he would be forgiven for concluding that the purpose of groups like Wright’s is to make the despicable guys like Ted Cruz and Donal Trump look like rational human beings by moving the center of discourse so far to the right that the run of the mill right wingnuttery appears to be mainstream.

This is very similar to KKK cross burnings - it is an explicit threat of violence, not an exercise of 1st or 2nd Amendment freedoms.

I sure hope the U.S. Attorney or the Justice Department Civil Rights Division is looking at this, and real fast. This seems to be a violation of 18 U.S.C. §241:

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

Also, we shouldn’t let Texans enter Texas, because gun laws there are too lax.

Not very clear in the article. These appear to be public meeting minutes, which would identify these people anyway. are you saying he went to he trouble of looking up their addresses somewhere like the phone book or whitepages.com and connected the dots?

Meh. He’s obviously trying to be threatening and obviously implicitly calling for people to harass or even attack these people or damage their property, but it doesn’t strike me as a major privacy issue.

This is what the nutjobs who protest PP do too. The go out back, write down all license plate numbers then look everyone up on the DMV website or whatever and publish the list as if even the custodial staff are somehow “abortionists” for having a job and cleaning the toilets.

It’s all blatantly intended to threaten, but arguably not actionable, which is why they do it and can get away with it…especially in a fucked up ideological trash heap like TX.

Are you also implying if a Martian went to a Daesh safe house one day and a tRump campaign rally the next it would conclude that they were the same beings but with different skins (clothing)?

An armed man, with his face covered, freely roaming the streets of an American city?

Pathetic fucking weasels.

Am I a horrible person for wishing that this odious wingnut and his scary monkey friends could be transported to daesh HQ in Iraq?

I was a student at one of the white high schools in Birmingham when the school was first integrated. I overheard the principal in conversation with a small group of male students. The principal expressed his bitter opposition to integration, and one of the students asked him where the two new black students lived. A threat of vandalism at least was implied and possibly violence. He gave them the streets but not the street numbers. I don’t know why he stopped short of giving their entire addresses. Possibly he thought it gave him a kind of alibi.

If this doesn’t seem that important, remembered that six people died when the Birmingham schools were integrated. Four at the well known church bombing, and two others at race-related shootings. All victims were black.

Imagine if the skin that was showing was brown and he was dressed and armed in exactly the same manner…waltzing about outside a mosque.

SHITSHOW.

He’d probably be dead within the first 20 minutes, no questions asked.

That picture is horrific. I think most people would find it scary and offensive. The idea of a masked man walking down your street with a machine gun is just insane. No one could let their children outside. No one could go outside. Unless a good guy with a gun went out and they blew each other away.

Well, stuff happens.

Irving, Texas.

That means the mosque attendees could scare the dipshits off by carrying clocks.
