I think we’ve gotten so inured to Fox outrageous propaganda we can’t get shocked any more.

Say anything without any concern over its being a blatant falsehood.
Freedom is slavery. Halperin is a liberal. Obama is a Muslim. Climate change is an Al Gore scam.
And say it without a modicum of discernible embarrassment of shame.

I don’t recall there being a feeding frenzy about this, and these e-mails weren’t from a single IRS staffer but people who worked in the West Wing.

So Halperin is not only wrong, he’s ignorant.

What happened to Karl Rove’s emails? Did the Bush White House follow the rules on keeping administration and politicking activities separate? Were emails lost?

When the AG went before congress to testify–did he answer all their questions?

I think blowing the cover on a national security asset is a little more serious that some little political action committee seeking tax exempt status. I’m just sayin’…

After all, the Bush administration is hardly ancient history? Shouldn’t SOMEONE in the media be capable of remembering?

The only scandal here is that all of these groups save one liberal group were granted tax exempt status. That’s a direct cost to you and me to fund their outlandish lies and propaganda.

To be fair to the media, if and when a Republican president loses 2 years of IRS emails, it will probably be because they were actually targeting political groups.

Um, here’s the thing. We already know what the media response is when a Republican White House actually uses the IRS to target political foes (or when government emails are lost). It’s fairly recent history. I have no memory of any sort of media ‘obsession’ occurring, and certainly not a year’s worth of investigations and breathless “smoking gun” breaking news alerts.

Exactly, a person appears on MSNBC, so that makes them a liberal. It doesn’t matter that they’re clearly quite conservative, but if they’re on MSNBC they somehow morph into a Liberal Democrat or something.

I seem to recall something like a million emails were ‘lost’ by George Bush and that didn’t get a lot of extended media coverage either.

Maybe the IRS scandal is not getting a lot of press is because there is no “there” there.
