The problem is the Morning Joe. Look who is on that panel. Where was Ron Fourney?
Halprin last week still blamed Obama for not working with the GOP on the ACA.
In general MSNBC has become unwatchable until dusk. And then it’s probably only a matter of time.
Morning Joe is part of the problem
The Morning Joe* panel would have been enraged if the President Tangoed in Havana if a child fell off a bike in Omaha.*
Bloomberg Politics editor Mark Halperin, who said there was a “consensus” that Obama made “a mistake”
CONSENSUS? - of what? all the guys in the locker-room at your squash club?
TPM, can we have one day where YOU don’t feature morning blow? Just one?
No one gives a crap what this gaggle of clowns have to say!
Maybe we can have one of those famous “national conversations” we’re always being invited to have about how long after a downbeat thing a President should wait before doing an upbeat thing. And how much of a Democrat a President is allowed to be ever. Or whether media people can be hired and keep their jobs while talking like rational adults about anything, anywhere, that might matter in people’s lives. Or whether Americans as a society ought to grow the fuck up and get serious themselves. I suppose there are lots of national conversations we might have.
(Sigh.)
He’s on an historic (Cuba) overseas diplomatic trip. It’s not like he’s on spring break in the Caymans.
Does it look good when you show him dancing or at a baseball game? Probably not. So why do you keep showing it when you know damned well it’s state functions that were scheduled far in advance and any President in that situation would still attend out of diplomacy?
The Congress is a one-step solution…that is…when people wail “What can we do?” the answer is to vote the bastards out. That is incredibly hard to do. If it were not, then Republicans would be a fringe lunatic party.
But that is the only way to get them GONE: Vote 'em out.
With the MSM it is even harder. The deregulation you rightfully point out has to be overturned with legislation and enactment, which can only be obtained from responsible public officials…
But people cannot fathom that in sufficient amounts.
A short term solution for this MSM conundrum would be other forms of information obtaining (other news services)…while at the same time scouting idiot programs like “Morning Joe” so as to assess what the other side is plotting and also assessing the damage people like Scarborough are doing to the general public.
“Nicole Wallace, who worked as a communications director for former President George W. Bush”
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Also let’s not forget the Correspondence Dinner when PBO was able to put Donald Trump in his place while he was awaiting word on the raid on Osama bin Laden
The Morning Joe crew can all go fuck themselves…
Pretty sure PBO doesn’t give a flying fuck what anybody thinks at this particular point in his life.
I would dress this statement up for the times I have to explain the gist of it to small children (under 7).
But it happens to be true
If we are going to quit living after every terrorist bombing, nobody would ever dance or go to a ballgame again. Joe isn’t going to stop making money and spending it just because of a terrorist attack. Didn’t take him a second to pick up where he left off on his last installment of Grifting for the GOP.
Who in the heck does he think he’s fooling?
A consensus has developed that Mark Halperin is full of shit. And this is not just people on the left who feel this way…
“You don’t want me to do the [questions] on deportation?”
“That’s right. Nothing too hard, Mika.”
After that, an impartial panel of GOP apologists is a minor kerfuffle.
That consensus left the station years ago. In private conversations his mention elicits eye-rolling and snickers. It takes a lot of knuckle-headed reporting to exceed Chuck Todd and Ed Henry on the idiocy meter, but he pulls it off.
BINGO! And I remember 3 words: “Watch. This. Drive.”
Yes, a president should be in the Oval Office, wringing his hands, with a terrified look on his face. That’s the true sign of American power.
Well, that and making funny videos looking for weapons of mass destruction under the Oval Office desk.
He’s one enema away from being buried in a thimble.
Every day the right wing is outraged about something our President does. After all Obama is guilty of being President while black. Phil Griffin is responsible for MSNBC’s rush to the right. So far his efforts have accomplished nothing as far as ratings are concerned. In fact the only successful programs on MSNBC are Rachel Maddow and Laurence O’Donnell. In the normal business world he would be fired. He hasn’t been, prompting me to wonder if the owners secretly want the network to fail.
