Discussion for article #230461
I’m old enough to remember when “Chocolate Cake for Breakfast” was a new routine. It was hilarious then and probably still is. My younger brother took great delight in reciting several of Cosby’s monologues that he’d memorized from a record (remember those?) we had. That little boy, now nearing retirement age, cracked himself up.
How sad that the supremely gifted and funny Cosby has been revealed as such a flawed human being. How sad that this is how his life and career will end. It’s all on him, and well deserved, but still sad.
Apparently, folks around Eastern Florida State College don’t care whether he’s a serial rapist or not. They just think he’s funny:
This is called “compartmentalizing.”
In the words of an old Monty Python sketch, “Ah, Lenin! Quel chanteur!”
My question is, what attorney in his right mind is allowing this man to keep doing interviews?
Good question. It’s not as if he’s running for office, and needs to control the discussion. At this point, Cosby must be rich as Croesus. He could just say absolutely nothing, and quietly retire.
It’s always hard to find out that one of your childhood icons is actually a really horrible person.
I wish I could see the coverage on Fox News if this were Larry the Cable Guy getting shows cancelled and grilled in the media for accusations of rape. My guess is, we’d here about ‘innocent until proven guilty’ with a huge focus on the liberal PC police.
I’m old enough to remember when “Ice Cream” was a new routine, way before chocolate cake. His late 60’s and early 70’s standup was amazing.
Cosby has always been a womanizer. But I’m not ready to pass judgment on these other allegations of rape yet.
Things sure not looking too good for old Bill. Why would old these women gang up to lie against him if there was no smoke somehow?
Media Matters on NPR freaked me out about this. The male announcer described the situation as one in which there were no witnesses. I know what he meant but for heaven’s sake what did he think the women were? Potted plants? No, they are witnesses in their own cases just as Cosby would be were he willing to talk.
