It’s the three words that should be coming out Democratic Party talking heads right now. We aren’t going to get it, but it is the right position to frame the debate. We can always negotiate down to “Medicare for all” later.

So they’ll “compromise” by only, say, cutting the tax in half. And sweeten the pot for richer 50-plus types with an additional tax benefit. And maybe let old people in nursing homes stay on medicaid, because those folks’ relatives vote.
The worst damage is being done to medicaid. What are their views on keeping medicaid appropriately funded?

That’s probably their rationale. I do, however, find it really interesting that the GOP is moving in this direction. In my dreams, they will wake up one morning and have to admit that maybe Obamacare wasn’t that bad. (a fantasy, I know)
