“What’s confusing is the Secretary of State’s support of limiting access to the ballot box,” she said.
Not really.
Agree. Nothing confusing about his actions. They are clear in their intent: make it as difficult as possible for low-income and/or minority citizens to exercise their right to the ballot. Sickening that voting rights has become a partisan issue but it is just one facet of GOP efforts to retain power against the wishes of the majority of the electorate.
“What’s confusing is the Secretary of State’s support of limiting access to the ballot box,”
LOL…no it’s not. Four words explain everything when you’re asking “why” about any of this GOP nonsense: “because white Christian nationalism.”
say it with me
“BECAUSE WHITE CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM”
The GOP’s behavior begins and ends there. So does our country apparently.
Isn’t it odd that a state like mine (NY) seems to have little or no problems with voter fraud in spite of not requiring us to show a photo ID?
She understands. She just wanted to get the statement in so that maybe voters will start to understand.
Yeah we could go on and on - Oregon votes by mail and they don’t have a problem.
Seems that the only states that have problems with vote fraud are states that are run by the GOP.
Same with Washington state.
Well it’s damned odd how selective these fraudulent voters are about where they are voting. How come California doesn’t have a problem - it’s the most populous state in the union?
This is getting exhausting.
Their reasoning is BS, election officials, down to local volunteers, represent the state in the voting process and must follow the rulings of any court. Trying to act like local officials are separate from the state is totally wrong, and should be called out in any court proceeding.
“What’s confusing is the Secretary of State’s support of limiting access to the ballot box,” she said.
This has been the Republican MO for Secretaries of State for too many years. They call it protecting the vote, I call it protecting the vote for Republican voters only.
