Please let tRump stick around for a while. It is fun to watch a circular firing squad. Even if tRump is not the eventual nominee he will air as much dirty laundry as possible while he is in the spotlight.

The problem with Trump is that heās giving cover to the slightly-less-crazy-and-extreme Republicans, preventing them from getting press coverage and letting Jeb! and Marco and Walker rise.

Trump is a friend of the Clintons and has donated to Dem candidates in the past. If he wants Hillary to get elected, heās doing more to make that happen than any amount of campaign donations can. Heās exposing the xenophobic and racist GOP base, and provoking all the candidates to attack him rather than Hillary. Plus he is causing the other candidates to go on record whether they support him or not. Trump knows the base eats up what he has to say, so that gives him enough of a bounce in the polls that he gets the press he craves and others have to take him seriously. Classic trolling.
The best thing he could do is run as an independent as others have mentioned. But first he needs to get a large enough base of people excited about him to take a significant share of the GOP vote. If he can stay above 10% into early next year, and decides to run as an independent, Hillary wins in a landslide. And running as an independent is the tell that this is all a giant trolling performance.

Damn you Donald. Donāt you dare implode this soon. I want you careening around the GOP debates like John McCain coming in hot for a landing on the Forrestal, except without the crack fire suppression crew on deck.
But attacking McCain could be good. The right wing of the party never liked him or Romney that much, even though they backed both in the general election. They really believe they only lost because their nominees were not far right enough. So keep em riled up, then focus the fire on Bush and Walker.
One way or another, this darkness has got to give.

He isnāt going to run as an indy, unless the RNC does something that REALLY pisses him off personally. Such a campaign would be very expensive, much more so then running as part of the GOP, and with no experienced field operatives, is doomed from the start. And as much blustering as he does, he knows this.
He also knows that if he runs indyā¦ALL of the votes that follow him come directly from the GOP candidate. and without a doubt, he tosses the election to Hillary. And while he has donated money to the Clintons in the past (just wait until someone brings THAT up on the campaign trial or in the debates!!), I donāt think he is running a covert operation for her.
If he is, it will go down as the biggest ratfuck in history.

Cheney is a bigger hero among all the heroic non-vets because Cheney had to fight all the harder to get his FIVE deferments than Trumpās one. Weasling out of defending freedom is so much more heroic when the weasler is dodging the draft when it is coming at you from five different directions.
