Most of the Dems who were hawks in the Senate during that time period are gone now.

Glad to know Turtle’s two knees are capable of jerking.

" The fact that the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation program developed significant intelligence that helped us identify and capture important al-Qa’ida terrorists, disrupt their ongoing plotting, and take down Usama Bin Ladin is incontrovertible. Claims included in this report that assert the contrary are simply wrong.""

Republican logic: what do you believe… our claim that these matters are incontrovertible or our admission that this report controverts them?

Thankfully, Republicans are never motivated by ideology when they study more <cough> important issues like Benghazi.

Teatroll Rosetta Stone says:

“As we have both stated before, we are opposed to this study and believe it will present serious consequences for U.S. national security.”

As we have both stated before, we are opposed to this study because we believe it will present serious consequences for GOP/Teatrolls.

“Regardless of what one’s opinions may be on these issues, the study by Senate Democrats is an ideologically motivated and distorted recounting of historical events.”

Nuh uh.

“The fact that the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation program developed significant intelligence that helped us identify and capture important al-Qa’ida terrorists, disrupt their ongoing plotting, and take down Usama Bin Ladin is incontrovertible.”

We’re still mad that Obama got to take credit for killing OBL instead of us.

“Claims included in this report that assert the contrary are simply wrong.”

I said, NUH UH stomps foot.

Haha…their own GOP/Teatroll-controlled committee in the House just released a report that there’s no evidence to support any of their accusations against the administration, Obama or HRC, so they (and the MSM) simply ignored its existence.

The Senator does not address the issue of why we should be kept in the dark about the techniques the CIA used to interrogate. He may disagree with the conclusions the committee drew about the effectiveness of torture. That in no way should bar the American people and the world from knowing what happened.

Keep in mind this guy:

Incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) objected to the release of the CIA torture report by Senate Democrats on Tuesday, suggesting that it would harm national security.

wants to mess with Homeland Security funds because “the brown people are coming, the brown people are coming”.

In the photo above, is Mitch emphasizing his point or checking if he was fed peanut butter this morning?

They’d like it if their Obamacare hearing today would distract us from the Torturer in Chief and his Dick… doesn’t appear to be working out that way though.

Aside from your absolutely horrible typing and writing skills, your conservative projection onto liberals is an interesting case of a psychotic break with reality.

Well, McConnell is being trumped by John McCain right now. As much as I detest most of McCain’s political behavior, he is giving a brilliant argument against the use of torture and also defending the need for the release of this report.

Republicans support torture and oppose accountability.

Good to know.

McConnell said in a joint statement with Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), the ranking member of the intelligence committee.

"As we have both stated before, we are opposed to this study and believe it will present serious consequences for U.S. national security. Regardless of what one’s opinions may be on these issues, the study by Senate Democrats is an ideologically motivated and distorted recounting of historical events. *****The fact that the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation program developed significant intelligence that helped us identify and capture important al-Qa’ida terrorists, disrupt their ongoing plotting, and take down Usama Bin Ladin is incontrovertible.***** Claims included in this report that assert the contrary are simply wrong."

BULLSHIT!

The reason the Republicans object to the release of the torture report (besides the fact that the crimes were committed during a Republican administration) is that it undermines their preposterous belief in “American exceptionalism”: that this country occupies some moral high ground by virtue of it’s unique place in history.

Republicans in general think that the U.S. - in pursuit of it’s security and national interests - is above international law . We’re the “good guys” no matter what we do because we’re the U.S., right, and we’re morally justified.
