That’s what the folks on the right have been saying for years. He and the rest of the leadership would make promises to those on the right in order to get their votes and then do little or nothing to keep those promises. He was thinking, “where else are the rubes going to go?”

There are a LOT of newly registered Hispanics here. I have seen folks registering people at the local Safeway Supermarket and other establishments. And among my Mexican friends there is a word bandied about. “Pendejo” is frequently heard when discussing Trump. It could very well be a watershed election as Mitch is worried about. Goldwater carried AZ and a few southern states and lost everything else. It could be worse for Trump. I suspect FL and NY will reject him. I’m thinking the Electoral vote will be 360-178 for Clinton.

Herein is the problem: Latinos have a deep seated strong man attraction. And even though Democrats like to court the “Hispanic vote” as obvious supporters, there’s a wide and deep conservative streak that’s attached to machismo, which trust me, is still in full effect and display. Hispanics, especially Mexicans, want very much to assimilate and be part of the crowd, so if they live in Laredo, they have no problem supporting Trump because they want a strong man type to deal with narcotraficantes. They won’t believe a woman can because she’s a woman. So they can call Trump a pendejo all day long; that does not mean you can count on a vote for Hillary.
