Discussion: Missouri Official Meant 'No Ill Intent' When She Called For Military Coup

This kind of talk is all too common on conservative blogs and message boards.

That’s giving her the very generous benefit of the doubt that she ever knew that in the first place. Frankly, I don’t think she’s got a memory to refresh.

LOL good one!

The thing is, I don’t doubt that she’s being honest when she says she wasn’t really asking about a military overthrow. That’s the problem with conservatives, is that they spend most of their time living in a fantasy bubble, entirely removed from our reality. They listen to talk radio where everyone says crazy stuff like this, as if in a dream. But then when they repeat it to people who are non-crazy, they get called on it and don’t understand what they said wrong because they didn’t mean what they said literally. It was all part of the fantasy, in which they’re waging an epic struggle against evil.

And the context that the rest of us are missing is that they’re the good guys who would NEVER advocate for anything bad or anti-American. And so it should just be assumed that they didn’t say anything that wasn’t good and proper, since they’re the good guys. And that’s a mistake that self-righteous people always make, as they believe their righteousness gives them a special pass to break any law. But sorry, there are no “good guys” in the world, just individuals who can do good or bad actions. And if you’re advocating a bad action, it’s bad, regardless of how you see yourself.

Complete wacko. What are you missing. Well, have you got 10,000 hours to review the material you should have heard when you were supposed to be paying attention in school?

Just when you thought you had heard the dumbest statement in the world by an elected official (usually on Fox News) someone like her comes along and trumps it.

She wants the military to stage a coup against the President, something that has never been done in our history, but she claims to have “no ill intent toward the president”? I’d sure like to know what she considers to be “ill intent”!

I’m sorry lady, you cannot label a call for a military coup as “innocent and simple.”

under different circumstances, a discussion would be appropriate - but in this case - she is simply an idiot - and should be kept away from computers & other communication devices.

I’m so innocent! I just can’t understand why the US military doesn’t take action against the POTUS! Just a simple question, I’m just asking because I don’t know!

This is more chickenshit than usual. You’ve heard of the Overton Window? Now they are moving the Chickenshit Window.

Only if the President is Blah.

One thing that should be clarified: She clearly believes that the Constitution gives the military the authority to remove the president. She’s not asking for an illegal overthrow. She’s asking why the military doesn’t already use the power they have to do it.

And the question is: Where the hell did you get the idea that the military can remove the president? Because the Constitution does have a provision for removing presidents, but it’s not the military who does it. And for good reason. Because the military is too powerful to be given that right, which is why they work for the president and not vice versa.

And I’m sure it’s from listening to talk radio, which is where all the craziest ideas come from. And as much as some people complain that TPM and other websites focus too much on crazy things conservatives say, it’s obvious to any sane person who listens to talk radio that when conservatives are allowed to spew nonsense without being called on it, they say some crazy stuff. Like believing that the Constitution gives the military the authority to remove the president. And I’m sure whoever told her that considers themselves a strict constitutionalist and insists that it’s being violated by Obama.

18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Let's hope the lady enlists at least one other person in her wingnuttery. Good luck to all the soldiers signing on with her. She asks "What am I missing?" Well, for starters I'd say the above cited law. Geez. Idiot.

AND she called our president a “domestic enemy”.

No, no ill intent there!

Ignorant, and damned proud of it. Stupid and lazy is no way to go through life, woman. (Paraphrased because I wouldn’t comment on this woman’s appearance.) Let me fill you in, sis; members of the U.S. military take an oath to “protect and defend the Constitution,” just like the President has done (twice!) As he is designated the “Commander in Chief” of all military services, that just might explain why they have taken “no action” against him. How does this idiot remember how to breathe? Does she have a coach? And what exactly is she using her brain for, it sure as hell ain’t doing much “thinking.” Great job, GOP, how’s the “rebranding” working out for you?

Well, at least she admits he’s domestic, not Kenyan. In terms of her progress on the Teatroll evolutionary scale, that’s like the difference between amoeba and fruitfly.
