ISIS and Mullahs across the world should probably consider the USA as its/their headquarters, especially the southern states.

Republicans sure are good at fixing non existent problems.

This will be a tougher one to defeat, since most national/international businesses won’t care - after all, who wants to do business in Mississippi in the first place?

The very second he signs the bill, someone should apply for a gay marriage license and when thet refuse to do their jobs, Mississippi gets dragged into court. Then another…and another…and another…and another…and another.

once again the ā€˜fiscally responsible’ insist on throwing money at a problem that only exists in their own minds… Mississippi just lost a court case invalidating a law prohibiting adoption by same sex couples…

do they think if they throw enough money away eventually they’ll win?

… and public employees…

You know, if I hired someone to do a very specific job and later they told me they didn’t want to do it, I would let them go.

Find a different job that doesn’t conflict with your ā€œbeliefsā€ or STFU!

Does Mississippi even have any industries for us to boycott?

Mississippi keeps struggling to drag itself back into the 1950’s, and the courts keep telling them they can’t: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/daniel-jordan-blocks-same-sex-adoption-ban

"also allows businesses to deny services based on the belief that ā€œsexual relations are properly reserved to such a marriageā€

I see a lot of lawsuits by unmarried couples checking into hotel rooms.

If ever a TPM subject needed scare quotes, this would be it.

This is so absurd. They must know that wasting time and money to defend this in court, which they will have to do the moment this is signed into law due to a predictable challenge, and coming from one of the poorest states in the country which will have to shell out more taxpayer money to fight this is a fait accompli, in that it has already been considered unconstitutional by the SCOTUS. And if that’s not good enough for them…I believe the Federal Appeals courts below SCOTUS would also take issue with this.

But, ruby red legislature needing to make a statement in an election year to nullify federal law seems to be the going thing right now. ALEC sure has been busy these last several months I see. What a fucking idiotic move. Usually they wait for off-year elections to pull this shit. These people are fucking desperate.

The poor persecuted xtians. Pretty soon all their churches will go the way of abortion clinics and there will be only one to serve the whole state.

The Mississippi House on Friday passed
a religious freedom bill that would allow businesses and public
employees to deny services to people based on the belief that marriage
should be between a man and a woman, sending the legislation to Gov.
Phil Bryant Ā®.
…
Will murderers, child pornographers, burglars, white collar criminals who have done their time in prison also be denied services by businesses? Or just LBGT folks? I mean…it’s only fair to deny services to anyone convicted of s ā€œsinā€. What about Atheists?, Agnostics?

I believe the Christian belief is more discriminated against than other things.

He also believes for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows but that doesn’t make it real…

So freakin’ ā€˜American’, Mississippi…We’re gonna pass a bill that allows God fearin’ CHRISTIANS to discriminate against anyone that they don’t like or agree with cuz that’s MY country…what a bunch of rubes and/or sheep led by the lobbyists that are trying to show to the world that you are indeed rubes…

…the legislation ā€œgives some people—as I appreciate it—the right to be able to say, that’s against my religious beliefs and I don’t need to carry out that particular task.ā€
