Discussion: Mississippi Senate Favors Allowing Armed Security In Churches

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.

And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Many likes to State Senator Hillman Frazier for clearing the political fog away:

“We don’t need to pimp the church for political purposes,” Frazier said. “If you want to pass a bill liberalizing gun laws, then do that. Don’t use the church.”

Praise the Lord and pass the Snakes Ammunition.

“When a man carries a gun all the time, the respect he thinks he’s getting might really be fear. So I don’t carry a gun because I don’t want the people of Mayberry to fear a gun. I’d rather they respect me.”
Andy Taylor, Sheriff Mayberry, USA.

If you need to carry a gun just to leave the house, you must live in a far scarier world than I have lived in for the past 68 years. What is it that you are so scared of that you need to intimidate the world with a gun?
