Discussion: Mississippi Could Test How Soon States Can Restrict Abortion Access

Republicans in Mississippi noticed that HIllary Clinton lost the 2016 election, which means that Trump will appoint the justice who ends legal abortion in America.

How much taxpayer money has been spent trying to get rid of that ONE clinic in Mississippi? I realize this one clinic is the tip of the spear in this fight, but damn, a state that has so many problems- poor health outcomes, poor education outcomes, high percentage of low income families, etc, finds time and resources to to battle ONE clinic every legislative session.

Right wing jackasses will do all they can to restrict/ban a totally legal, private procedure, thereby neutering a law that otherwise provides a vital health service to women. But, ask the same people to lift one tiny finger to restrict/ban certain weapons (AR-15) and you may as well demand the sun rise in the west.

The “viability comes earlier” argument is in particularly evil bad faith. Because if these fetuses were truly viable outside the womb, there would be nothing wrong with a woman choosing an early elective delivery and voluntarily relinquishing parental rights.

Women of my generation did not take the wing nut fight against legalized abortion lightly even when Reagan opened the door to the wing nuts in the R party. But…too many young women took Roe v Wade for granted and dropped the ball. Their apathy gave them this problem and I feel badly for them on the one hand, but they got this shit because of that apathy on the other. It will all come around again in time but If you don’t stand up for your rights they will be taken away.

I think you hit on something.
Maybe republicans need to overturn abortion so as to keep enough targets available for there, extended extreme 2nd amendment rights.
Next they will want everybody to have one of these sitting everybodies front yard.
