You are probably right, it is wishful thinking, but remember Republicans have shot themselves in the foot several times over the last few years.
Bottom line is I see McDaniel and some of his friends moving to create a third party. Either that or McDaniel is totally nuts.

The teabaggers love McDaniel and believe he is fighting the good fight. Think about that.
He is using them and trying to work the Party leaders while calling them some choice names at the same time. Unfortunately for McDaniel, heās dealing with some old pros that are much more douchy than he can even dream of being. So heās relying on teabaggers to save him.
