I think Donald Trump is an entertainer. And I think he says what’s on a lot of people’s minds but I think that the Republican Party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie, who could absolutely do the job of President of the United States. And if I were a Republican, I would absolutely be terrified of that. Thank you.

So what exactly is she terrified of? Trump attention-getting prowess. Or is she terrified of the job that either Bush or Christie would do as president? I know I am. Very odd phraseology by Miss 'Bama.

One of my friends from high school wrote this on FB this morning:

I watched Trump’s interview with Jimmy Fallon on MSNBC online and that did it for me. We need someone who doesn’t care what people think and is willing to be hated for the good of the country. I also like Ben Carson’s thoughts. Haven’t checked out the others yet.

I am afraid for the nation as a whole, because there are an awful lot of folks out there who feel the way she feels. How in the world can anyone feel that the leader of the Free World should be someone “who doesn’t care what people think and is willing to be hated for the good of the country”?

Have we fallen so far in our fear of the outside world that this should be even remotely considered seriously???

I think this question is not asked enough. Why should we give a moment of our precious finite lives thinking about what this woman is speaking about? In the pecking order of the GOP, she ranks below anyone else I can even think of. This is (wo)man-on-the-street irrelevance.

I think she does, and suspect that the usage is along the lines of “if I were you” rather than as if she were registered otherwise. For people in that part of the world, we have a one-party system: Republican. Democrats are just a scourge to be eradicated, to the extent they exist at all, since that’s the party of the “others”.

I think this is all the product of relentless, long-term echo chamber brainwashing by right-leaning culture/media. All the things that would make him absolutely terrible as a world leader are traits that conservatives have long been led to believe are positives, and the types of things that conservatives look for in a candidate. The problem now is that we’re at a point where said traits have become cartoonish parodies of themselves and some conservatives aren’t able to recognize that. “Somebody who tells it like it is!” could be a positive thing in a rational setting. In their minds, that’s one of Trumps traits so they get all giddy when he takes the stage. In all actuality Trump is just a bloviating, narcissistic asshole whose “ideas” are complete horse shit. This is how we ended up with Bush W. Remember he ran on a cowboy, salt-of-the-Earth, simple, non-elitist “everyman” image? Conservatives ate that image up. They failed to understand that all those “positive traits”, in all reality were just a fancy way of saying that he’s a bumbling idiot.

Sorry your friend doesn’t see that distinction. I’ve got a Facebook wall full of these types and it’s depressing.
