Discussion: Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Defeats Tea Party Challenger

Discussion for article #222978

I was so wrong about this one that I’m thinking about stabbing myself in the gut for it having betrayed me so badly.

They hate that “blah demo” in their white house, but they love those ACA subsidies and the associated medicaid. Filthy hypocrites!

Mitch had to sweat and spend money on a campaign he should have had in the bag. He’ll breathe a sigh of relief in the terrarium tonight.

You thought the Tea party guy was gonna win?

Last I heard Grimes and the Terrapin were tied.

I’m curious which of the seven dwarves will win the Repub nomination here in Georgia. All of them are to the right of Turtle. The most signs obviously don’t guarantee a good showing.

I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen in GA.

Maybe he’ll celebrate and splurge on a new basking rock.

McConnell’s new campaign slogan against his Democratic opponent?

“A vote for my opponent is a vote for Obamacare”

I’m not making that up! Does Mitch realize that Kentucky’s Obamacare exchange is a model of excellence in signing up Kentuckians for Obamacare?

This may backfire on Mitch, methinks.

Be gentle on thy soul…but now you can enjoy Romney’s landslide loss just a little bit more, knowing what he must have felt, x1000…aaah. Isn’t that better?

Besides, my gut says Alison Grimes cleans Mitch’s clock in November. How does that sound?

I know, I know, I’m always complaining about the massive photos on the discussion page. But seriously, open this one in a new tab. Holy cow.

YAY!! Yertle the turtle won!

Cannot understand why Mitch would even stand a chance in Nov. when realizing he has led the charge to say no to anything and everything that has to do with Pres. Obama over truly representing.
KY. can truly show us the way and break the cycle of re-electing such yahoos over and over. For sure my state failed such an opportunity miserably and put Pence in as Gov.

McConnell and the post turtle!

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to McConnell and his bid to retain his senate seat.

The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, McConnell is a ‘post turtle’.’

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was. The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle’.’

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain.

‘You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there!.’

I never thought he’d lose… but I certainly like the fact that he was forced to spend 9 million of his own money, while Grimes has been pounding him with 100% of her money…

…and let’s be honest, if the GOP does take the Senate, but Grimes manages to take down McConnell right at his crowning moment… that’s a damn good consolation prize.

Well, he’s not a Senator for his mental agility, I’m quite sure.
