Discussion: Miller And Kushner Face Off Over Immigration Policy

He strikes me as motivated by profit and not ideology. His plan will last about as long as Lou Dobbs allows.
[/quote] That is probably true, but before that happens, it might be nice to see a “showdown” between Heinrich and Albert:

Because we all know that blood is thicker than water. Miller will likely lose if it is Javanka vs Stephen. One step at a time. Miller looks to me to be an even worse abomination on immigration, and humanity in general, than Jared.

Trump is planting idiots at the head of each of those, too.

Blood may be thicker than water. But support of his adoring base is very much tied to immigration.

You’re probably right; we have a mega narcissist we’re dealing with here, and service to self might even “trump” family loyalty in this instance.

But I am still hoping Miller soon irritates the Donald over something–maybe getting much more press or magazine cover stories would do it–because once that starts happening, he’s a short timer and Trump will denounce him to the faithful base.

Trump has knighted Miller to oversee immigration going forward, while Kushner had already been tasked by the president with coming up with a legal immigration plan. From which AP correctly deduces “That leaves them working at cross purposes at times.”

“Stephen is an excellent guy. He’s wonderful person.” But, he added, “Frankly, there’s only one person that’s running it. You know who that is? It’s me.”
That is until things go south, then it is someone else’s fault.

While I do think this one is also about their reputation it may actually be a legit battle given big money Republican donors aren’t keen on trump’s extreme immigration stance. Not because it’s hateful, profoundly cruel and by every measure makes the country worse off, of course but because they know it’ll hurt them financially.

A reporter should really dig into this. How well do you know MIller? How long have you known him? Why do you think he’s great? Get all of the responses on video and play them repeatedly, so frequently that even Trump’s base is tired of seeing them. When the inevitable under-bus moment occurs for Miller, put those tapes to good use.

Wait. This strategy didn’t work too well with Cohen.

Time for something new. Does anyone (other than the recipient) really like a brown-noser? Sycophantic behavior is universally reprehensible, right?

Wait. This strategy didn’t work too well against Cruz.

Sigh. What have we become?

A shanda fur die goyim … Feh!

A Game of Thrones plot line. I am sick of both of these entitled assholes.

Miller is the last of the hyper-fascists in the original Trump line-up. He lasted because he was better at lurking in the shadows than Bannon and Gorka, both of whom wanted the world to know they were in charge. Trump won’t tolerate any suggestion that he’s not running things and they got the boot. Miller’s days in the shadows are numbered as the media continues to seek out subordinates rather than Trump to blame for these evil racist policies. The clock is ticking, I’m taking next Friday in the pool…

True. But I also think he’s dumb enough to think he still can protect the Trump “brand” so that Ivanka can sell shoes again someday.

oh goody!!!
