Discussion for article #247210

Ted Cruz will never be President of the United States.

I think he’s angling to be the first president of the Second Republic of Texas.

Wishful thinking on all parts…

So now what will Drumpf uses as his default Cruz attack?

Senater Cruz

I’m proud to have the endorsement of the only senator to stand up against the BigWater lobby and the wasteful Federal plan to help the children of the city of Flint. I chewed lead paint as a child, and as you can see, was not harmed in the least.

Most shocking part of the news? Cruz actually has a “close personal friend”!

I wonder why it took Lee this long, he is as big a nut as Cruz is, and it’s about the only one that I ever seen working with him.

Well, that locks up the asshole vote.

The second biggest asshole in the Senate has endorsed the largest one.

He should move to Cuba, they love crazy, mean-spirited, egotistic authoritarians over there. I he can work with Castro for a few months without getting himself sent to the “paredon” they will more than happy to name him his successor.

TPM continues their practice of Scatomancy

That is the real question. They are basically a caucus of 2, and have been ever since Cruz arrived in the Senate.

Not quite, unless you have a better word to describe the Trump partisans.

That is defined as someone who can control the urge to beat him up for more than 20 minutes

Lee called Cruz a “close personal friend”

Notice that Lee had over a year to endorse his “close personal friend” but waited until it was clear that it’s down to Cruz and Trump with Rubio just embarrassing himself. Some friend.

Have their careers been hurt by it? Lee is, obviously, a permanent back-bencher. You can see that just by the look on his face. And yet his endorsement is at least getting him to the front page on something that would normally be a footnote.

Cruz is currently second, and notably ahead of The Establishment’s final long shot attempt to knock off the guy in first place.

What price have they paid?

Lee was at the top of my guess list when Cruz was supposedly about to announce a bunch of endorsements from fellow senators. He’s the second biggest shitstain in the senate. We’re talking about a person who has put a “hold” on the overwhelmingly bipartisan $250M in aid for Flint, MI. His justification is simply “they don’t need it.”

Yeah, we DO know what THAT is about.

BTW, the look on Cruz’s face in that photo might require me to disturb the office by screaming.

don’t kid yourself - there was a clear quid pro quo with that endorsement

even his kids wouldn’t say that they like him without a bribe

Like minded souls

So, according to the article, one of Cruz’s closest allies, and a close personal friend, finally gets around to endorsing Cruz. And this is some big coup for Cruz? Please. The only reason this is a story at all is that he has no other endorsements.
