Blind pig. Stopped clock. Kudos to him for pointing out to other vandals, I mean “conservatives,” that arts enrich people and arts programs are vital to a child’s development. I’ll happily take a little common sense wherever I can find it.

Funding for the NEA, he said, is “essential.”

Absolutely Mike. How else can you sell books on religion and hate if all the evil is defunded? Who’s gonna be left to hate? What’s a Savior to do?

While I appreciate Huckster-be’s sentiments, I wonder: Does he know 19 Kids and Counting is not considered “art”?

I know it is more difficult to find decent musicians for your church, maybe your churches should teach music instead of relying on tax dollars. /s

Way to go Mr. Mike …

Whatever works. Perhaps it really is a sign when considered intelligent creative citizens and batshit wingnut theocrats support the same priorities for government.

I’m still disappointed we’re hearing from a has-been politician that hasn’t held office in over a decade. This bullhorn chasing is part of the leverage that the Trump campaign used so effectively to allow the media to do the job of the campaign.

Appeals to Trump to support the arts will fall on deaf ears. If it isn’t a portrait of him, he could care less. Trump would melt down the Cellini salt cellar to gold-plate his toilet.

Huckabee and the arts??? I would just call this a comedic example of cognitive dissonance.

The NEA funds poker-playing dogs, children with giant eyes, and Velvet Elvis?

Dear G-d, tell me they’re not responsible for Thomas Kinkade!

The critics are saying, “No meat or potatoes”…

What he’s really thinking (as other republicans should) is that the NEA funds projects in every district in the country. Even in conservative districts, “Sorry, your kid can’t have a music teacher any more” is the kind of thing that changes votes.

As long as creativity stays “God-given” – right Mike?
