Oh, my … the plot continues to thicken.
According to Rudy Giuliani and Emmett Flood, only murder and armed robbery are real crimes. Indicting a businessman for kidnapping is a government tyranny.
Pass the popcorn while I turn on Faux for their reaction to this one.
Let us know what you find out. I just can’t bring myself to watch-my psychosomatic stomach goes into overdrive.
The GOP / Devin Nunes Drumpf et al PR blitz has been to argue that Gen Flynn was entrapped and fell victim to a perjury trap. Ok. So Flynn is the victim in the alternative fact universe.
But dollars to doughnuts Flynn cooperated in this investigation and subsequent incitements re le affaire du cleric Dinde which is why Mueller complemented him at sentencing and suggested zero time.
That make Flynn in Drumpf’s parlance – a RAT. A dirty stinkin rat. And Drumpf don’t like no RATS in his crew.
Now what? So the FBI forced him into being a RAT as well? I can see Nunes making this case on Fox in 3…2…1…
If you can imagine a way to be dirty, any way at all, that crew was not only dirty that way but also in three other slightly offbeat related ways. Fractally dirty.
So, Mike Flynn conspired to kidnap a U.S. Resident on U.S. soil and deliver him to a hostile foreign government.
And we’re recommending no time at all in the can???
I’m missing something here. His cooperation simply HAS to so clearly indict Individual #1, as there’s nothing short of that that could possibly excuse a crime like this.
Now we get to see what privilege looks like when you have ‘33 years of exemplary service’. It is still privilege no matter how we look at it.
Trump just told Erdogan at the G20 meeting that he would facilitate turning the cleric over to Turkey as a good will gesture.
Yeah, I am sure you will hear from Feux News that this was entrapment, brought about by a out of control Special Investigator, Mueller.
Anybody who has ever talked with law enforcement knows or should know, they are there to do a job, they are not your friends.
As I have told many friends and family over the years, if you get the good cop bad cop routine, believe the bad cop because he/she is telling you the closest thing to the truth. Also it is ridiculous to think that a former officer/DOD employee/contractor does not know that lying to a federal official is a punishable crime. Everyone of these folks takes compliance courses, and everyone of these folks goes through a Security Clearance or review which reiterates the point numerous times.
And I really, really don’t get it. Any lesser person might-might!- be able to make the argument of ignorance as their excuse.
But a 3-Star General and former DIA head? Of all the people that HAVE to know better…
Despite Mueller’s request, I hope Flynn the rat spends some time behind bars. I don’t see how what he did, regardless of his cooperation when caught, entitles him to walk away scot-free.
I’ve been reading the comments that follow the article at WaPo. Very enjoyable.
What if a group of people talked about and built plans for removing a person in the US by force? Would that according to Mr. Mayor,. be a crime or is only the narrow definition allowed of robbed or murdered? Also, what about a crime where a victim is both robbed and murdered? Does that count?
Truth be told, I lied. But the lie was not material. And only made to people who I thought were my buddies. And no one told me I needed counsel or it was a crime.
Just what a kleptocracy looks like! Is it a business deal or is it foreign policy? Why not get a two-fer?! Or better yet, a trifecta if you add in oppo-research from foreign governments!
“Master of the house, keeper of the zoo…”
Of all people… those are the ones who would know how to get away with it.
Note to Judge Emmet Sullivan: I hope you will take the breadth of Flynn’s multiple crimes and associations into consideration before you agree to slap him on the wrist with a limp noodle. The man deserves — correction: needs! — to serve a jail sentence.
