Discussion for article #243255
You got caught, Mike.
We would never do what I clearly proposed doing. Got it.
He’s the biggest suck-up in a town of suck-ups. He simply got caught this time.
Reminds me of Trump saying he would “never mock anyone’s disability.”
I m wondering if Chelsea put it out there. I do hope so.
Bad, bad, bad to the bone…
If pre-approved no-gotcha little substance questions are demanded by the Republican candidates in debates, then they should spread the love to, uh, the children of outgoing Sec of States, and similar?
Gee, fake set up interviews from a site run by republicans, no wonder Charlie Pierce calls them “Tiger Beat on the Potomac”. I prefer the shorter “Politijoke”.
Force of habit is hard to break, isn’t it Mike. You do this all the time with Reps, so suggesting it with Dems was just out of habit. Got it.
In the email, I said I’d agree to the questions in advance. I have never done that, and would never do that.
…
You apparently tried to, Mike.
Just don’t apologize like a GOPer, OK?
Clearly Allen proposed this to Chelsea trying to lure her into an interview. He’s no friend of the Clintons however, so my guess is he would have sandbagged her the moment she had agreed to the interview, had he ever gotten her to agree to his terms. To say now that he would never have conducted an interview in that manner, calling his email “clumsy”, is complete Bullshit. For a reporter or whatever he calls himself, it’s downright malpractice.
He’s one of the worst hacks out there. Manipulative to the bone, on helping score points for rightwing politicians, which has always been his stock and trade. This guy should be fired from his job for that…but he won’t, which is why he’s only a teeny-tiny bit embarrassed he got caught. He knows his job as a rightwing hack is still pretty secure over at Politico.
“I would never do that, except for that time I did that.”
That’s a nice job of journalistic camouflage. Telling the interviewee what subjects will be covered is quite a bit different than giving them a list of the questions. What was it and why would it matter? Ms. Clinton is a private citizen, not seeking public office and has been the victim of media mendacity since she was a kid. If I was her I would not get close to a rag like Politico unless I knew exactly what was to go down.
Fascinating how the email making what is clearly a usual promise for Allen involved Hillary and not, say, any of the vast number of Republicans whose excrement regularly stains his nose.
I’m sure Chelsea is disappointed that Mike Allen called off the interview because of his integrity. After she read the proposal and laughed herself to tears.
It’s possible he was truthing. He’d agree to the questions with his fingers crossed behind his back, and then ambush her during the interview.
These are RWNJ’s, after all.
something clumsy I wrote
I bet he’s passionate about his work…
shorter POLITICO: Mike Allen got caught telling the truth, and he’s really sorry about it. Promises to never do it again.
Just why is there a Politico ?
