The DNC and Democratic candidates, legislators, and operatives need to GET SERIOUS ABOUT COMPUTER SECURITY!
Encrypted email --all of it. Encrypted file systems. Strong passwords/passphrases. Multifactor authentication. No Microsoft products whatsoever. No convenient insecure workarounds like email servers in your home or consumer-grade texting. Lock that shit up like you lock up your retirement savings! Pay good money for top-notch computer security expertise and follow their recommendations like gospel.
It’s a travesty that the last election was thrown, apparently, due to shoddy security practices at the top level of the DNC.

NSA can approve and distribute Secure Ethernet modems to all political candidates to provide SOTA encryption capabilities if ordered by the POTUS. They are not that expensive and pretty much hack-proof. It is just having the will to do it - the means are already there.
If political campaigns and elections are critical infrastructure, (and given the disastrous outcome in 2016, they clearly are), then people need to stop using junk commercial communication and security software like MS Outlook, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Kasperski (LOL), Symantec, etc. and this other crap to run their campaigns. Run it like secure government operation with real COMSEC measures like hardwired Intranets, etc., NSA security software and MS Office Pro - Period. NO software that is not USA-coded by trusted software engineers and NSA approved. Period. Double or triple firewalls between the trusted Intranets and the Infected Internet. Use “sneaker net” one-way data transfers OUT with screened physical media that can’t come back in. There are proven ways to deal with all this Russian cyber bullshit.
While we are at it, why in the hell aren’t we taking measures to, once and for all, TANK the Russian economy by destroying their currency and banking system ? That is my biggest complaint with Obama. When he warned Putin in the Summer / Fall 2016, and Putin flipped him the bird, he should have lowered the Hammer. He had time between the fake Election and the Fake Inauguration to empty Putin’s bank accounts. These assholes need to be put back into the Stone Age, for good.
