Discussion: Michigan Gov's Office Knew Of Flint Water's Link To Disease Since 2015

Discussion for article #245555

So… can we talk felony manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges yet?

Don’t we all just wish.

Yes, either state or federal charges, or perhaps both, two indictments from two separate governing bodies, and it’s not double jeopardy.

Is there a movement to recall him going on in Michigan yet? Perhaps he can be recalled, then face state and federal charges?

Snyder will do what he does best–he’ll weasel out of any knowledge of the contamination of the water supply.

So his campaign slogan Relentless Positive Action turned out in practice to be Relentless Deceptive Evasion.

“Michigan Gov’s Office Knew Of Flint Water’s Link To Disease Since 2015.”

Jesus could only change water to wine; the GOP can change it to poison.

And then feed it to children.

In the name of “emergency financial management”.

I think Republicans are a bit confused about that whole “suffer the little children” thing…

Can Snyder be recalled under Michigan statutes? Just wonder if it’s possible in Michigan. Anybody know the answer?

Yes. And it seems to be growing by the minute.

Thank you for that answer. Obviously, I know nothing about Michigan laws and politics other than that the Republican politicians smell these days.

Also, in DC this week, Republicans refused to fund $300 million to help Michigan fix the water supply pipes.

Well, to do that, Snyder will have to claim he can’t read or that someone was impersonating him as governor, since a number of the “the citizens of Flint are being poisoned and infected” emails involved his office and email address.

I keep wondering if they are trying to get people to flee Flint. Maybe someone wants to build a golf course there—or redevelop it on a grander scale— like in that other town…the first I remember hearing having an emergency manager —Benton Harbor
Pattern seems to be take over, make changes (some of which may poison people), wear them down. Just the price of doing business.

Drip, drip, drip. Snyder is going down and taking many Michigan Republicans with him. This story is getting more and more press and threatens to invade the GOP campaign trail. Snyder is starting to look a lot like Nixon.

ISIS: As much as we love this, poisoning water in US cities was our job and not that of an elected Republican governor. We would like to pay him to blame us instead.

And the were read by interns that never passed the information along.

A Republican Politician is lying about murdering poor people.

Why is this considered news?

So the party of smaller government failed to fit in a bathtub.

From what I’ve read, and I’ve read quite a lot (I’m originally from Michigan, with friends and family still living there – including in Genesee County) the Republican legislature in Michigan has really tightened up the recall laws. Recall petitions can only include facts – no references to what the Governor should have known or should have done, for example. As a result, to date, all of the recall petitions that have been presented have been tossed out by the courts. Residents of Michigan are still trying to draft a petition that meets the stringent legal requirements. I’m sure their efforts will continue until they finally succeed!
