Discussion for article #226971
Unless sheâs going to follow up with a full on barrage of similar commercials, or build out a larger theme of âthis is what Republicans want,â I would have held this one until some time in late September. But itâs not like Iâm a pro or something, so what do I know?
Youâre assuming she has nothing left in her arsenal? Sheâs got serious DNC and DSCC money behind her. I doubt that she just spent all her bullets on this one ad.
âIn 1998, Perdue joined Reebok as a senior vice president. While serving as president and CEO of Reebok, Perdue negotiated a contract with the National Football League. In 2002, Perdue left Reebok for Pillowtex, a North Carolina textile company. In 2003, he left Pillowtex to become CEO of the Dollar General. Perdue started an Atlanta-based global trading firm in April 2011.â
âAccording to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Perdue is known on Wall Street as a turnaround specialist who helps revive brands and reap rewards for investors.â
Workers versus the rich playboy a good line of attack with plenty of play room.
This is the first salvo in what promises to be a forceful campaign.
The season is just starting, and this is a preview of what she has in store for Perdue.
TeaPols take their Hypocritical Oath very severely:
First do no harm to the flow of lucre (filthy is fine) into my bank accâŚUhhhhhhh , I mean my âfavorite charityâ.
Define your opponent and drive up his negatives early in the cycle. Then you go positive with your message in the end. Right now Nunn is defining her opponent.
This ad is very professionally placed.
Your season is just starting???
Weâve worn out our mute button because of huge amount of Koch funded air time on the Land Of Cotton campaignâŚ
BTW-- we mute for ALL campaigners.
Brutal. Enjoy your $1.7 million, Dave. Itâs what you traded for being regarded as a complete fucking douchebag.
Good stuff. The Democrats are fighting back hard. It defies historical pattern but I strongly somehow sense this election will be an upset with Dems prevailing somehow pretty well.
Now if only Swissy would run again.
I was saving this for November but I better post it now before I forget it. This Karmic moment has been brought to you by Saxby Chambliss.
This must have been a pretty heavy ad buy. Iâve already seen it several times. I should also mention that in their first debate she chewed him up and spit him outâŚwhile he just kept saying Obama, Obama, Obama. I think they are going to see that backfire
I hope Michelle follows this with sensible moderate proposals that wedge working class voters away from Perdue and drive home the point that they need to get out and vote.
Reining in tax inversion is a well-targeted small-bore issue along these lines. Raising the minimum wage is the broad one.
Moderate economic populism has a strong, historic place in Southern politics, but Democrats have run to far away from it in recent years.
Actually, it doesnât. âDemocrats donât show up for midtermsâ has been grossly and ridiculously overplayed. Democrats came out in 2006, the last midterm election, and they can come out in 2014.
I so hope this is true in KY too. Obama, Obama, Obama is the entirety of Mitch McConnellâs campaign.
Iâm talking about thematically. If sheâs going to continue to develop this theme in later commercials, then yeah, this is the right time to run it. If sheâs going to hit this and then move on to other reasons her opponent is abominable, Iâd have done it later and given the other guy less time to try to define himself out of it.
He sold them out for $1.7 millionâŚthatâs it ? Shit, Mitt Romney wouldnât even bend over to pick up that kind of chicken feed.
The ads arenât going to be enough to overcome strong tribal identification amongst most voters in Georgia. GOTV is the only way this turns into a D win. The pollsters are already showing that: if AA turnout is 26%, Perdue likely wins; if itâs 29%, Nunn likely wins. Sometimes itâs that simple: get your people to the voting stations.
By any ethical means necessary!
