Nuclear weapons in the hands of people like Bachmann scare me most of all. They have a strange fascination with the rapture and end of the world. Having access to nuclear weapons gives them the opportunity to make it happen.

Umm, reporting crazy things she said so we can mock them relentlessly gives her legitimacy?
I, for one, think it’s kind of important to show people that, however crazy you thought her when she was in office, it turns out she was filtering and restraining herself to a remarkable degree. These stories are giving us an important glimpse into the inner life and private conversations of the other unhinged right wing theocrat extremists who are still in Congress.
Take the order of magnitude increase in the already off-the-scale crazy she’s shown since she got out of office and apply it to, say, Steve King, Ted “Yahoo” Yoho and James Inhofe. Get the picture? She’s showing us that they’re all far crazier than we think, inconceivable as that may seem to be.

She’s excited to speak of the possibility of a planet-killing nuclear war, because she believes an imaginary figure will descend from heaven and take her back into the sky with him. She has people who support her for high office. Lots of them.
