Well then, indict and arrest him tomorrow and put him out of his misery.

The unnamed source who spoke to the NYDN characterized Cohen as “very stressed out” about the possibility of an indictment.

“None of it is good,” the source said.

Yeah, that’s generally how facing the possibility of indictment is interpreted. Ain’t you some kinda lawyer, Michael?

So here’s a serious-ish question: Mueller has access to a lot of legal and IC resources for investigating and indicting people, and the SDNY office also has a lot of resources. But do either of them have access to known-secure facilities for stashing high-value flippers? Because when you’re rolling over on someone who has command authority over the people who are taking your statement and finding you a new place to stay, that could be tricky.

I’m sure it’s just economic anxiety.

Poor dear. Did the crime, but doesn’t want to do the time. Life can suck like that. :smirk:

Cohen says there’s no truth to this rumor, huh? I think I’ve heard that before somewhere…

One thing I’ll say about Comical Ali back then, which will also apply to the Stupid Watergate crowd of today – it was pretty funny in hindsight, but while in motion it was just frustrating to see someone deny obvious reality. Mueller, please drop the hammer on this f^$* already.

I was wondering about that myself, but more along the lines of will they be able to keep Manafort from catching the polonium flu if he looks like he’s going to flip. Although who knows, maybe they will keep Mikey safe in the warehouse they keep the ark of the covenant in, right next to the box labeled “Mike Pence’s self respect.”

My understanding of witness protection programs is that they’re very highly compartmentalized, so that almost no one in Agency X will know where Suspect Y has been stashed, even if it’s broadly known that they have been stashed. In that sense I think we’ll all be okay as long as the 2-3 people who would actually know where someone has been re-located are trustworthy, and I’m confident Mueller can do that

Maybe I’m hopelessly naive

Well, I’m totally convinced. Hey, who would ever suspect anyone in this administration of playing theater?

Sounds like he needs the uncertainty removed. He’s practically begging for it.

A thousand pardons, but I think he’s begging for something else.

After all the legal analyses does anyone really believe Trump won’t pardon Cohen and Manafort of everything they’ve ever done or will do, Trump will BS his way through it all.
Who’s going to go after him Congress, FOXNews?

On a side note - trying to reach this article from the front page using two different Android phones gives a 404 (Page Not Found) error. I assume there’s supposed to be a mobile version of the page but somebody forgot to hit 'Save"…

ETA: Did a little digging, found the Contacts page, with an email address for reporting issues:

On a related note, somebody posted a link a week or two ago to a page that gives a summary of user stats, but I can find it anywhere. Did anybody think to bookmark it or otherwise remember?

Trump might pardon, but that just kicks the can down the road (state charges) and risks immediate blowback. I could see it happening to move the trials past the midterms.
