Watch the school district fall all over itself claiming it didn’t write the ad, then find some dead guy that it claims did.

The next ad will read “Female 21 years or younger needed for typing and to be a gofer.”

Incidents like this one make me wonder how any Jewish person can support the GOP. They are constantly talking about Christian values and being a Christian nation. Sure, every now and again someone will clean it up by referring to Judeo-Christian law or whatever, but for the most part GOPers frequently dismiss all other religions including Judaism. And really the only time they truly support Judaism is when it comes to saber rattling over Israel. Otherwise, does anyone actually believe they recognize Jews as their religious equals?

I’m from Michigan and have never heard of McBain, Michigan. From looking at the map however, its clearly a Podunk town. It has a population of about 650 people, is 1.25 sq. miles in area, and is at least 90 miles from any mid-sized city like Traverse City or Mt. Pleasant. Its apparent claim to fame is a bio-mass plant that burns lumber. So Yeehaw. Or should I say it sounds more like Hee Haw.

Good catch Michigan ACLU.

Never heard of it, so here’s wiki with a few details:

As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 656 people, 249 households, and 159 families residing in the city. The population density was 524.8 inhabitants per square mile (202.6/km2). There were 275 housing units at an average density of 220.0 per square mile (84.9/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.6% White, 0.3% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 2.6% from other races, and 0.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.4% of the population.

Small minds residing in a small town (as opposed to small minds in larger areas).

Hellbound and unsaved may now apply.

Why do Christians hate the Constitution?

The newspaper said the reference to religion had been removed from the job description as of Tuesday.

Well that just makes everything A- ok now. They certainly won’t have “a strong Christian background and philosophy” as one of its “selection criteria,”. No sireeee!

Interviewer: What are the days you cannot work?
Job Applicant: I am unable to work Sundays, because that is God’s day. I am in church from 8am -3pm, and after I do volunteer work at the food bank until 6 pm. I then go home, because as head of the household and strong Christian leader of my family, I think it’s important to be there to instill good American values by reading the bible to my children and pray with them before they go to sleep

/wink wink

Removed from the “Job Description” but has it been removed from the interview process?
I want a black, female, gay, muslim, with 20 years experience and a P.H.D. to apply for the job and see if they get an interview. Then, send in an identical resume but change it to be a White, Male, Married, Christian. See what happens.

Yup, just one reason the overwhelming majority of us don’t (along with the greed, racism, militarism…). Constitutional conservatives!

How can a school district this small afford to hire two consultants? What kind of people are the Michigan Leadership Institute hiring that don’t know the basics of the law surrounding the topic they are consulting on?

One of those consultants took responsibility for the listing later that day, apologizing and saying it reflected “poor judgment.”

“I apologize for neglecting to include ‘white’ as one of the requirements,” he stated.

Christians aren’t a monolith. There are probably millions more Christians who hate this kind of stuff than are those who approve of it. It’s just that the rest of us aren’t given a voice because we aren’t running around doing these kinds of things. Pretending all Christians agree with this is like Republicans believing all Muslims approve of ISIS.

Especially when you consider the fact that the GOP is now controlled at the local, state, and national level by people who eagerly look forward to the total destruction of the state of Israel as a chapter in their “I’m gonna be raptured by Jesus!”/End Times fantasies.

Well, how can women, blacks, Latinos, LGBT, or middle class people, retirees, or any person with a sense of fairness support the GOP?
