Discussion: Message To Health Care Holdouts: Relax, The Senate Will Save You

This is such a great sell. Republicans are geniuses.

“Don’t worry, the unpopular parts won’t even be on the final bill, but you would be on the record for having voted in its favor for your opponent to use against you. See, that’s true genius”.

The Obamacare repeal is being done so that the plutocrats can get a trillion dollar tax cut.

The Rubes don’t care or are mildly opposed.

And it’s not like we don’t know how to use the internet and look up how they voted.

That’s an incredibly astute comparison. Thank you!

Another House Rep. replied, off-the-record, “That’s what Cole said, but this is what we heard: ‘Vote for this and all of your opponents will use it against you if you ever run for Senate’. Does he really think there are that many House Reps that never want to move up?”

The only Reps stupid enough to fall for it are the ones who don’t want the controversial bits of the bill removed.

Wrong. RepubliKKKlan nuts in the House ARE that stupid. And the Democrats need to hang this alabatross areound every goddamn RepubliKKKlan in the House that votes to take away health care!

That’s a great argument to make if they don’t care about being re-elected in 2018.

I sort of agree with the sentiment, I think, but … please don’t call it The Final Solution.

I cruised by CNN and saw this headline and I felt I had to share it:

GOP split on gutting protections for the sick

Therefore I say that the GOP doesn’t give a fuck about the people they are sworn to serve.

I have posted many times how to expand Medicare in a way that benefits all and is easy to do.
On your paycheck stub you should see your withholding spelled out. That part that says “fica” is a tax to support Social Security and Medicare. But there’s a salary cap above which that tax does not apply. Remove that cap and I am then willing to bet my farm (yes, I have a farm) that not only will Social Security be funded in perpetuity but there should be sufficient funds to support Medicare for everybody.

Good God…yes House. Don’t do your freakin’ job. Pass it on to somebody else. You whiny aholes. You have blamed Hillary, the Dems, the voters, the poor…now PASS IT OFF. God you are all a pathetic waste of time. And Brat? STFU…you are a despicable lying jerk. C’mon VA…take him OUT.

But then WHAT will the Republicans have to bitch about??? They might have to do REAL work…

Its like a slow-motion car crash… and I think the moderates have decided to tuck and roll. The worst case scenario for GOP electoral prospects is this thing actually passing. The moderates know it.

It would really just be kicking the can. And it pretty much would be an argument that the House has been wasting everybody time in the first place. They should get the best bill they can out. Then the Senate and then hash out differences.

There is a part of me that hopes this horrendous pile of shit passes (without one Dem vote of course) so that all those working class Trump voters finally feel the effects of his sociopathic behavior. I guess that’s the Id part of me.

The superego part of me is of course concerned for all the normal, reasonable working class folks who did not vote for Trump and will be affected by this horrible, horrible idea. People will literally die because of it.

"I think people sweat these details way too much at this stage in the game.”

The big picture is it is just another from the long line of pseudo “wins” Trump can claim to his gullible followers. He will campaign on his many such “wins” in 2018, and his die-hard supporters will be too dumb (or dead) to realize they lost their O-Care for nothing in return.

The Senate will save you. But it will still likely cost you your seat. A small price to pay for Republican glory!
