Shamed. By the GERMANS about Nazism in our country. Let that sink in for a minute.

These “people” need to be stopped by whatever means necessary.

The American President is no longer the leader of the free world and that is pathetic.

Merkel: Leader of the free world. Trump: Banana republic dictator wannabe.

Wish I could rec this more than once. Germany remembers Nazism quite clearly, thank you very much and they have no problems with calling it out.

Counting down to the nonsense Trumptweet in response, betting on something about how Germans were Nazis first, you know, like how the KKK and slaveholders were Democrats. Reactive spasms of the feeblest of minds. And our great leader. Sigh.

Well it did happen in their country to the point of taking over, which hasn’t happened in the US…yet …I hope!

It is beyond shameful that the Prime Minister of Germany understands how to condemn bigotry and hatred more clearly than the President of the United States. Apparently, Ms. Merckel is capable of understanding and learning from history, unlike the Vulgar Talking Yam. Bravo, madame!

Trump would never in a thousand years understand that this is what leadership looks like.

I hear what you’re saying. We’re not remotely approaching anything near the level of atrocities and depravity that engulfed Nazi Germany. But Nazi sympathizers have taken over the White House. Germany didn’t go from zero to 60 overnight. Even though civically and economically we have way more brakes against those impulses, all it might take for neo-Nazi fever dreams to ramp up into higher gear would be a Reichstag Fire. To quote Gandalf: “The board is set. The pieces are moving.”

“absolutely repulsive scene at this extreme-right march.”

“there was outrageous racism, anti-Semitism and hate in its most despicable form to be seen, and whenever it comes to such speech or such images it is repugnant.”

Someone should pencil this into the margins of Donnie’s copy of Being President for Dummies.

Or this:

Merkel also regrets the death of a counter-protester and sent her sympathies to those injured.

Even that simple statement of human sympathy and goodwill is completely beyond Trump’s ability. Trump who sent “Best Regards” – signalling that murders by his base are fine with him. He only expressed sympathy for the police. None for the citizens of Charlottesville.

Good times
