Quick somebody alert Michele Bachmann so he can make a federal case about it. s/

Only $95K ? That is oddly low for a Trump production!

That’s because it was only a 6 hour trip. She didn’t spend the night.

Simply put, a disgusting waste of resources and our taxpayer dollars. Grifterville strikes again.

Yes… just saw that it was only for the use of the hotel rooms at the Cairo Intercontinental…9-30-2018 to 9-30-2018.
Imagine if expenses are fully allocated … this glamour photoshoot in the desert totals over $3 million.

Just so worth it to see her in her faux safari outfit. $95,000 + the $79,000,000 racked up in Donnie’s 149 games of golf since becoming POTUS.

Wait until we find out how much the 200 nazi rallies have cost.

So besides getting her photo taken in a retro outfit in front of the pyramids, what did she actually do in Egypt?

That imperialist wardrobe must have done it. How much are pith helmets anyway? Did she hire a couple of locals to carry her in a sedan chair?

I despise Melania Trump, but this is an idiotic non-story. A trip to Egypt by myself, staying at 2-3 star accommodations would probably cost me over $2k. First class, I’m assuming with her son, and of course a retinue if secret service and state department personnel, plus local security arrangements – $95k is actually pretty reasonable.

Honestly, guys, this is the sort of bog-standard First Lady travel-as-public-diplomacy taken on by every First Lady, Republican or Democrat. I didn’t like it when the Republicans slagged Michelle Obama for her travel, and I don’t think we should go after Melania unless you can say that the travel expenses are completely out of line with other First Ladies (and don’t forget security concerns in Cairo would be much more heightened that in, say, Malawi, so they may have had to take an entire floor or two for a night just to ensure that a bomb didn’t get set underneath the room that was being used for staging).

There is no excuse for the expense of the President’s weekly golf trips, but this Africa trip by Melania is one of the few things this administration is doing that is normal, so I’m not going to complain about it.

I resent this woman’s trip and even so much as a farthing spent to promote her vapid ideas. The root of my dislike for this non entity is that she harbors the same repugnant ideology as her husband while taking full advantage of immigration loop holes for herself and her family!

And what did she accomplish besides complaining about how she’s treated in the USA? That’s a lot of money for a pity party.

You are right in many respects - but with one difference. Michelle Obama had things to say, causes to promote, and the intelligence to talk about them with everyone from diplomats to us regular folk. therefore, I don’t look upon most first lady trips as a waste - but this one - what warmth, charisma, or honor does she reflect on the US?

Let’s everyone here remember that we would spend twice that amount to get away from 45*

I’m glad, heartened and all the rest of it that the “most bullied person in the world” could get out of the house at last and take a little vacay without having to fear swatting moron’s little hand away from hers.

She accomplished nothing, she did nothing, Egyptians will gain nothing because of her tour of their villages. Money spent on this is part of the nepotism that is the major theme of this administration.

How can she “be best” with fashion plate photos in neo-colonialist safari gear without all that sweet, sweet taxpayer cash?

You’d pay $2K for your trip, and you got to pay part of the $95K bill she racked up. Moron claims to be a billionaire, he could have picked up the tab himself.
