Discussion: Meet The Longtime Federal Prosecutor At The Center Of Comey's Firing

The dead-eye look is remarkably similar to Stephen Miller.

What does this mean for the investigation? If it gets dropped, the public outrage will be limitless.

They don’t care about the public.

Dems should call for Trumps resignation. Now. But they won’t.

What investigation?

The FBI investigation? Which investigation is that?

What happens, most likely, is that there will be a new Director, who will, because “Gosh, it takes time to get up to speed” miss critical deadlines, and poof! There you go!

Also, what might happen is that pissed off FBI folks start talking to the press, and maybe, just maybe, expose the NY FBI division for the cesspool of Clinton hatred that led to this moment.

I’m being optimistic, for sure.

So he wrote a memo that detailed all the reasons Obama should have fired him.

So says Trump, Hillary’s knight in shining armor.

Josh is right. Trump is desperately trying to hide some awful truth.

I don’t think anybody can argue with Rosenstein’s position on firing Comey. He totally fucked up the Clinton email investigation. His shoot first think later approach to the Weiner emails was historic. He brought shame to the FBI at every opportunity.

I concur, but I also think there’s a good chance that this will boomerang on Mr. Trump, both because of his comments regarding this, as compared with his previous stance, and because it’s hard to believe that Comey won’t resent this. It may be interesting to hear what he says now.

Also, it’s hard to imagine given the track record thus far that the Trump administration is going to select a good candidate for this now vacant post.

This is the crux of the matter.

My problem with his alleged involvement in creating a phony firing rationale is that it assumes that Rosenstein was willing to destroy his career and reputation to be Trump’s confederate. I don’t believe it.

It means this “investigation” will be controlled by ‘The New King’. And PLEASE, James tell us the truth, you are free now.

It’s perfectly possible that Rosenstein believes he’s advancing his career by tying himself to Trump and doing his bidding. Why else would anybody sign on to work with the orange lunatic?
