Aside from voting in some places (sadly, an increasing number of places, due to GOP voter suppression tactics), there are other things that require proof of citizenship. I am in the process of obtaining a US passport for my recently naturalized spouse who is handicapped, and thus a non-driver (car insurance co. required that her license be surrendered before they would take her off our insurance). It is a large burden to get both the state ID, which is required to get the passport, as well as the passport itself. We are solidly middle class; the required process (and the naturalization process itself) would be heavily onerous to any poor or working class individual.
I think, because it is a right to obtain a passport and to vote, we are beyond the point that it should be considered an individual right of every citizen for the federal government to issue a photo-ID free of charge and for little effort.

I work for and have been trained by an attorney whose biggest strength in the courtroom is his brutal crosses…I mean, it’s to the point that you cringe for the poor bastard on the stand, and even just our office meetings with him often feel like you’re being cross-examined haha. I can tell you right now, these fools are that kind of attorney’s wet dream. There’s a particular joyto be obtained from a surgical evisceration of a witness. There’s so much cross material going on with these guys it’s almost impossible to know where to start. They are going to get so fucking obliterated on the stand it’s not even funny. They will be torn limb from proverbial limb and their entire careers exposed as the fraudulent, farcical, white supremacist nonsense that they are. I would not want to be them that day, and I just can’t imagine a court ever finding its way to treating them as credible unless they’re before some asshat like Ghomert.

I’ll go out on a limb and say he’s going to get laughed out of court. Then again, if he appears before a Trump-appointed Federalist bimbo, his odds get better. I wouldn’t be too optimistic of a favorable outcome, in any case. Kobach is a prime weasel, but any decent judge will see right through this.

First of all, if you’re not a citizen, and yet you illegally register to vote, then follow through and cast a ballot, thus committing a felony crime, why the fuck would anyone use their real name!!!
