Discussion for article #235320
Maybe someone can write a piece on Justice Thomas’s black friends (yahright), or Fat Nino’s non-insane buds, or Nancy Pelosi’s drinking buddies, or John Boehner’s golfing friends.
Or maybe, just maybe, TPM could hire an Editor with some semblance of a clue, and we can be spared fluff like this? The nickname “Tiger Beat on the Potomac” currently applies only to Politico, but it looks like someone is just a teensy bit jealous of that.
Actually, TBOTP has been experimenting lately with real writers and actually reporting. They had a few of both in segregated departments, but their management’s response to the poo flung over Mike the Mendacious’ using his column to print ad income has been, in part, so far at least, several long form pieces and actually thoughtful and objective articles by darn good journalists. I’m not saying it’ll last, but there’s something deliberate going on in the marketing strategy.
Is this what the Teabaggers mean when they scream about gays ‘recruiting’ people? And here I thought they meant something else.
OK, thanks for the info/update. Based on that, it sounds like TPM may be sensing a market opportunity, filling a niche as it were.
eh. You whine too much. Not every article will be a Pullitzer prize winning one.
I learnt something about Justice Kennedy’s background and his mentor from this article. As journalistic endeavors go, I would call this a net positive.
I never knew anything about Justice Kennedy’s background before he was appointed the the S C. Would be interested in an interview with him, if that can be arranged by TPM or some other media group.
