You can bet the Guv and his wife have their stories somewhat coordinated. I think thatâs the gameplan. Sheâs taking the heat off of him with this boneheaded defense i think. âOn holdâ, my assâŚuntil they can get through this trial at least, then all bets are off. Theyâre both in stinking hot water. Both are culpable, but he even more so as an elected public servant with corruption charges hanging over his head.

Are there any charges against her that arenât conspiracy? If conspiracy is the only charge then âwe didnât talkâ seems to be a defense. I suppose they could have tried âWe did not talk about this because we spent all our time together talking about religion and making love.â but they have more witnesses to support âI did not talk to her because she is really really awful.â

Some wives are eager political partners, e.g. Nancy R., and love every minute of it (except for the attempted assassination part), but I believe most others must be dragged reluctantly, e.g. Ann R, so the ambitious hubby can succeed. Even Michelle was initially wary of politics and said it took âconvincing on Barackâs partâ but she also understood she could advocate for issues she cared about. Either way he cannot do it without her even when it comes to confessing his sins and/or crimes or winning the presidency.
This is merely more corruption in the form of a crass defense tactic.

I think Ann Romney wanted to be First Lady more than the husband wanted to be president.
