McDaniel is going nowhere, but he’s been nowhere for years, so no news.

“Off the record, when did you stop beating your wife?” McDaniel spokesman Noel Fritsch told the Clarion Ledger’s Sam Hall, invoking a well-known rhetorical device of presupposed guilt.

To which Sam Hall replied, “I never have beaten my wife. But that’s not the question you should be concerned about. The important question for you is…When will I stop beating you?” as he rolled up his sleeves and moved in.

Ah, the definitive GOP answer to any political dispute.

Classic Republican orthodoxy.

Pretty much their ultimate contribution to civil discourse.

Is Fritsch the guy who replaced the extra from Deliverance? Guess they’ve already scraped the bottom of the barrel, and are now lifting up any barrels they happen to find.

Responded Hall: “Off the record: When I started banging yours.”

Nice response, but knowing how paranoid these people are, Fritsch might have been recording the conversation. Best to take the high road, far far away from these lunatics.
