What a whiner.
Arenât these the same illegal voters that elected Trump?
A big part of McCroryâs gambit, Iâm convinced, is to try to build a case that massive voter fraud exists in North Carolina. Then, come next session of the General Assembly, the Republicans (who have super majorities in both houses) will use those claims to justify legislating more voter suppression tactics to aid Republicans in winning future elections. When Gov. Cooper vetoes those laws, the Republicans can come back to override the veto with claims that âSee, Roy Cooper wants to win more elections through fraud!â
Meanwhile, McCrory will get some sort of reward, probably through a cushy directorâs job with Duke Energy and/or one or more of the other corporations that control North Carolina (and, in the case of Duke, poisons a lot of its people).
This âfiscal-republicanâ really enjoys wiping his ass with NC taxpayerâs money, doesnât he?
So much for that gambit.
McCrory is way, way, way down a rabbit hole at this point. His own party has rejected his claimsâŚrepeatedlyâŚof voter fraud. For whatever reasons, he is merely delaying the inevitable here.
Republicans cheat.
When theyâre caught at it, they cheat again, and try to change the rules half-way through the game.
McCroryâs refusal to accept the results of the election is a classic GOP gambit, which will fail.
when the new dictionaries come out the term âgraceless loserâ will have McCroryâs picture as an exampleâŚ
Itâs hard to tell from this article, but it sounds like McCroryâs objection to the selection of these attorneys is in his role as a litigant claiming that the attorneys have a conflict of interest, rather than in his role as Governor. As Governor, would he have the ability to approve or disapprove of the Election Boardâs choice of attorneys or of its request for funding to hire attorneys? Clearly, as Governor he is just as conflicted as Cooper in this latter role.
In any event, I would think that just about every election lawyer in North Carolina is either a Democrat or a Republican, so inevitably, thereâs going to be some appearance of conflict. In this case, you have a Republican Board selecting attorneys from a firm in which another partner is associated with the Democratic candidate. That is probably as free of conflict as you can get in this situation.
Honest to Christ. He lost. Whining and sniveling and cheating and lying to keep the position is not a good look even if he managed to hang on. Businesses already left in droves. So now you want NC to become KANSAS for fkâs sake? Wow.
So a firewall in this case is no good, but a firewall in Trumpâs kids/Trump Inc, is okey dokey?
Pope, Civitas, and the NC republican party are trying to steal the governorâs office.
Permanently.
Actually, the Republicans began cheating when they began incorporating at a national level the Southern Dixiecrat book of tricks on black vote suppression and winning and consolidating power at any cost. Jesse Helms was the Supreme practitioner of this type of White Identity politics before he became a US Congressman then Senator. Lee Atwater was the next prominent Dixiecrat Operative who took their schtick nationall when he was GHWBâs chief election operative and creator of the Willie Horton ad.
McCrory: I am just another white, power hungry Republican. I want to be Jesus of Kleptocrats.
Pat McCrory = sore loser, with emphasis on the âLOSERâ.
Wow, McCrory is really a piece of work huh? A bitter cry baby and anarchist, just clever enough to destroy the mechanisms of government. He really should be in jail.
A lot of seemingly hopeless GOP gambits have been paying off quite handsomely as of late. See, e.g., the election of Don the Con, maintaining majorities in the House and Senate, maintaining a stranglehold on most Governorships and state legislatures, and the GOPâs refusal to even consider Merrick Garlandâs nomination to the SupCt. At the moment, in fact, it looks like the GOP is batting close to 1.000. McCrory is hoping he can continue the streak - and at this point, I wouldnât consider any outcome to be too far fetched.
Hey douche- Lee Atwater apologized for the Southern Strategy.
