Please, Turtle: shut down the government 6 weeks out from the election. Please.

If McConnell shuts down the government, the Republicans will find some way to blame it on Hillary.

What an overtly racist piece of shit.

Where’s a massive brain aneurysm when we need one?

Is there anybody in American politics today more repulsive than this, um, person?
I cannot think of one. Not even the Hitler-wannabe his party is running for president. At least the latter is openly just an ignorant authoritarian thug who doesn’t care about anyone in the universe except himself.
Turtle Face, on the other hand, masquerades as some kind of “statesman,” or “leader,” or something like that, when all he is is a self-serving little, little toadie for his corporate and billionaire puppetmasters.
What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

What reason, other than spite, is there for leaving out Flint funding? And where is supposed voice of reason Jeff Flake on this matter?

Can’t they ever have a bill or resolution that does not allow any amendments? Aren’t there any single item votes that they can hold (particularly when the large majority of them agree on it)?
C’mon folks! Get something done!
It’s like they are rollerskating on ice… getting nowhere.

Wow, can things get worse? Lock him up instead of the government this time.

How’d that work out for Newt Gingrich and Ted Cruz?

Shut down the government (again) repukes, I double-dare you!

So the White Nationalist party has no money for the people poisoned in Flint. That not a surprise.

OR, at least a “tragic” fall down the stairs…

But, but the flooded folks in Louisiana are white (trash)…Flint, not so much!

Suddenly, a rather benign negotiation, free of the government shutdown threats that have marked the last six years of budget battles, has been blown up. The chances of a government shutdown are still slim, but rising.

Turtle really does exemplify the “screw you, I got mine” ethic, don’t he. :grimacing: …?..

I like to remind myself that the 9th Circle of the Inferno is reserved for the worst: Those who betray positions of trust, the corrupt politician being a prime example.
So have a good time Mitch.

Democrats cannot–CANNOT–provide Republicans credible ground to argue that they shut down the government.

End of story.

Time to retire Yertle the Turtle out to a nice pond where he can actually be relevant…

If I could make Trump Senate Majority Leader, I’d do it in a heartbeat. The thing I despise about McConnell isn’t his sanctimony. It’s that he’s the most effective (read: destructive) Republican legislator of the 21st Century.

The Game of Thrones bullshit in the House, the Boehner/Cantor/Scalise/McCarthy/Ryan shitshow, didn’t repeat itself in the Senate, despite Ted Cruz’s best efforts, and McConnell’s teaching John Cornyn everything he knows. And if he has to burn up 200 years of norms and folkways to get it done for his bosses, it’s fine with him.

If there’s one person in charge of raising the temperature so slowly that the frog doesn’t jump out of the water until too late, he’s the one.

Demonstrating once again why the Turtle isn’t very good at his job and why Democrats need to retake the Senate.
