Discussion: McConnell Warns Countries Against Obama's UN Climate Plan

Yep. Key word, civilized. Same goes for Americans, the civilized ones.

Only one, brief reaction: Absolutely. Indisputably. Rat. Fucking. Nuts!

GOP thinking is that since they couldnā€™t beat Obama, canā€™t impeach him, maybe they will just go around him and talk to Iran or the UN, or whoever will listen to them attempt to undermine.

McConnell and the rest of his Republican fellow travelers will stop at nothing to undermine the President, regardless of the consequences for the country: Screw around with foreign policy commitments, deny climate and environmental science, frivolously threaten war, dumb down education, spread vicious lies, encourage discrimination, etc, etc, etc. To paraphrase Joseph Welch, ā€œHave they no shame? Have they no sense of decency?ā€ Obviously not.

"ploitical graveā€™

Hey, Iā€™m not the spelling police. I kinda like it.

It arguably improves on ā€˜ploticalā€™, as it implies a higher nefarious content, AND it keeps all the same letters.

How about ā€˜ilopticalā€™, implying obtuse motives? Or ā€˜all politics is pitilocalā€™?

April Fools!

They can. They have an immense amount of money stashed away and very, very light crude. They can have lower prices and be profitible and they can also afford to take a hit for a long time. In addition to strking out at the poor frackers, this price is hurting 2 other groups that the Saudis oppose, Russia, who is the primary supporter for Assad in Syria, and Iran, neither of which can run their countries on 80 dollar oil.

LOLā€¦I was sorta hoping that for April Foolā€™s day, TGOET would write only perfectly-formed English sentences. Itā€™s OK, though, I enjoy it as is.

Ah, the same Midwestern states that were dismissive of stimulus not so long ago. Along with the Texas miracle, of course. If you want to look at the limits and dangers of tying your economy to extracted resources, just look at the Middle Eastā€¦

A happy, government-dependent citizen in the left-wing utopiary where fossil fuels have been banned.

So this is the new normal, I guess. Two-prong international relations: President says X, Congress says ā€œGTFO, itā€™s NOT-X!ā€

Indeed, and worth noting that the Supreme Court already ruled that the government had to implement new standards. King Coal McConnell is a buffoon - and Iā€™m really getting tired of these Congressional leaders trying intervening publicly in diplomatic negotiations. But at least itā€™s borne out of desperation - they sold their teabagging constituents a bill of goods last fall that they patently canā€™t deliver on.

Anyone remember when conservatives went ape shit insane after a country music artist made a few tart comments about George W. Bush to a foreign audience a few years ago, unleashing a torrent of hatred, abuse and death threats that continued for years? Remember how they all said that they totally werenā€™t mad at her because she had criticized him, but, rather because she criticized him to foreigners?

Iā€™ve been wondering why every picture of this codger makes it appear that heā€™s shitting his pants, when the shit has been actually coming out of his mouth.
