Discussion for article #228773
Allison ripped him a new one tonight. She was great.
She needs to spend the next few weeks hammering home the question “how dumb does he think you are?”, then answering it by pointing to silliness like this and saying “Obviously, he thinks you’re morons.”
McConnell figures that Kynect will continue as it is if Obamacare is ended. Sorry Mitch, but if you cut off the power to a light bulb, you don’t get any light from the light bulb. Same with Kynect.
That’s not a problem for Mitch. He uses clean coal.
Simply ask McConnell how the subsidies and other benefits will continue if Obamacare is ended.
Grimes was a rockstar. All the Terrapin could do is bitch and moan about “Obama” and “the administration.”
And when the “Obama question” nontroversy was brought up, Grimes held her own. I believe the Terrapin may have even hurt himself when he admitted he voted for Romney. Romney was responsible for shipping millions of jobs overseas, so the Terrapin essentially admitted he supports the shipping of jobs overseas. Grimes stuck to the issues and how she would fight for Kentuckyians. Good luck KY in sending the Terrapin to a much needed retirement!
Talk about disqualifying…
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said on Monday night > he wants to repeal Obamacare “root and branch” but keep the law’s state-based insurance exchange in Kentucky, called Kynect.
Uhhhh, isn’t Kynet the “branch” of ObamaCare?
Wow, I must have seen a different debate. I think she missed just about every opportunity, and she did so on obvious McConnell positions. For example, when McConnell talked about keeping the Kynect webpage, but not Obamacare, she should have simply pointed out that McConnell has taxpayer subsidized health insurance, which he thinks is just dandy. At the same time, he wants to strip health insurance from hard working Kentuckians. So charitable of you, Senator. Actually, pretty disgusting.
I hope everyone in Kentucky saw the debate you guys saw, rather than the kane I saw.
I know TPM speciallizes in finding the worst possible shots of all politicians, and some of them (looking at you crazy eyes Bachmann and Louie “howler monkey” Gohmert) are fantastic in their awful-ness. But surely they could have found a better freeze frame of Mrs. Grimes. That shot is terrible.
You missed where she called out the Terrapin for using “the administration” over and over during the debate, and refusing to own his responsibility in his 30 years of failure. That, IMO was the KO blow from her during the debate.
It could’ve been worse. They could’ve picked a shot of the Terrapin grinning with all that plaque on his teeth!
And Iraq has been able to attain the greatest standard of living and security in the Middle East from their oil revenues.
Keep the Website. Gut the insurance the website provides information for.
[Keep the schoolhouse. Totally defund the education budget.]
Winning logic for this demon of a man (if his Evil is not stopped at the polls in Kentucky on November, 2014)
I’d like to know what planet McConnell lives on! Keep KYNECT, but repeal the AHA? How is it to be funded? From what I heard, he laid the blame for all his failings on President Obama, though when he first became Senator, Obama was away at university. The deficit is growing? Job growth is bad? Really? He’s bern a leader? Really? Grimes tore him a new one!
I am from Maryland, and I am hurt that you call Mitch a Terrapin. Please stop.
That’s like saying “I’d like get rid of Facebook, branch and root - except the website.”
The website is the interface for the insurance. It is disgustingly Orwellian that he would attempt to confuse Kentuckians in this way. Despicable human being.
Repeal Mitch McConnell, but let him leave his website up.
One word about this debate: Rimrack. That is all.
