Good advice from the leader of the party that has treated President Obama with nothing but respect since he took office. I don’t believe I’ve read or heard an unkind word about him from any Republican during his time in office.

Regardless of what McConnell claims to dislike about Trump, the words that matter are:
“He won. He got the most votes. And I think we need to respect the process,” McConnell said
Trump doesn’t care if you don’t like him, McC. You are playing your role by acknowledging Trump’s position and lining up behind him in support – just another segment of the GOP human centipede.

Shoulda thought of the consequences of obstreperous, obfuscacious , odiacious your Senate leadership, Mitchie-moo. ‘Ought to Stop’ is as effective as ‘play nice, dear’. Or the more direct "be sweet’ which is the same as 'behave yourself.

He’ll never say it out loud, but I bet McConnell and the other Republicans privately hope Trump loses, provided the Repubs hold Congress.
It’s the perfect scam, having the “liberal” president to blame everything on. Of course, the president cannot make a law, but that doesn’t stop them from making the public believe that is the case.
Having Hillary to blame everything on, while continuing to obstruct anything getting done at the federal level, is arguably far superior politically to having Trump as president, where the Repubs have a harder time misdirecting blame for their shell game.
