Always a pleasure to see Republicans in disarray, attacking one another.
Don’t hold back, Yertle, tell us how you feel.
And quit lying to the public about the president. You hate him and everyone knows it. You assholes who publicly kiss his ass privately feel exactly like we do - so fuck you. And fuck you again. And fuck you on top of that.
Actually, Yertle, it takes a real degenerate to lose a seat in AL.
I see no downside to that feud escalating,
…and this from the man who masterminded the legislative program that will lead to the Republican party handing control of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats in the 2018 election. Birds of a feather.
I love the smell of Republican internecine warfare in the morning…
Have to give McConnell the thumbs up on that burn.
Oh, but this is hardly in the spirit of the season. I must, like Bob Cratchit, remind everyone to put aside our petty grievances and disagreements. Come, Mr. Bannon, Mr. McConnell, let us raise our glasses so that I may say Merry Christmas, fuckfaces, and I hope you both choke on it.
Well, I can’t say that I disagree with McConnell there. Of course, McConnell’s political genius will be on full display next November. Even Nate Silver (who’s always rather conservative with his predictions) is already saying this could be an epic blowout for the Dems beyond anything seen in our lifetime. We’ll see, but I think the Democrats would be foolish to not run a credible candidate in nearly every Congressional district next year. I doubt their will be more than 100 truly safe Republican seats by November and every Republican defending a Senate seat next year should be worried as well.
O I wouldn’t worry about that. In Texas we had way more Democrats who wanted to run than we had seats to run for. People are coming out of the woodwork to run against the GOP next year. We do not have one uncontested Repuglic running in Texas next year. Not one on any level. First time in almost forever.
Trump, McConnell and Ryan are the leaders of the Republican party, the Republicans lost Alabama. Bannon is just a loser, all on his own.
Let’s hope the enthusiasm eliminates Ted Cruz from the U.S. Senate. An arrogant, incompetent non-citizen that no one likes has no place in the Senate.
He’s got an opponent - Beto O’Rourke. Nobody likes Ted except the evangelicals but if we turn out we can outvote them in the cities for sure. We’re pretty purple now and they say that the GOP here is worried about hanging on to the suburbs. I hope that’s true and they lose them and they just might even though the Texas lege - long may it live in infamy - took away our straight party ballot vote ability.
The bastards. They can’t stop us no matter what.
Plus, says the sleazeball who backed Luther Strange. Says the sleazeball who said he believed Roy Moore’s accusers and then backed off to protect the Dixiecrat GOP Majority in the Senate.
I cannot tell you how happy that makes me. Several years ago the Democrats didn’t even bother running anyone against Mike McCaul when he was first elected to Congress - a friend of mine actually mounted a quixotic write-in campaign because the only choices were the son-in-law of the Clear Channel guy and some Libertarian. (He did get 6 or 7% - but this is in a district that is in part in Central Austin).
This energy is so incredibly important. Many of these races may be unwinnable due to gerrymandering or Texas demographics, but building the party infrastructure is critical for the health of the party, and that includes experience for candidates and staff and volunteers as well as developing a committed donor base. I am so excited to see this. I for one am not sorry to see the old “why bother, you don’t understand” crowd pushed aside.
Last year my rep, Hensarling, ran unopposed. I was so fucking mad because Hillary carried Dallas Co by double digits and he would have been voted out last year. Now he’s retiring so we don’t get to vote him out.
I was furious so I’m really gratified and delighted by what has happened this past year here.
No and no and no. We can win if we turn out - we can defeat gerrymandering with turnout - we have done it over and over in Texas.
Oh, I didn’t know about the straight party thing. As you said, bastards. Oh well, no shortage of things to be pissed about, is there.
I signed up today to give monthly contributions to Beto. https://www.dailykos.com/campaigns/forms/add-your-name-first-alabama-next-texas?detail=emailaction&link_id=3&can_id=d2429e667796828f4eb617bd233179e8&source=email-sign-now-lets-unseat-ted-cruz&email_referrer=email_279212&email_subject=sign-now-lets-unseat-ted-cruz There are easier Senate seats to get but few would be more satisfying to win.
