Well, let’s see if Trump can remember and explain any of the topics that were in his speech - other than the bragging and self-congratulatory parts.
Well, to be fair he became presidential after the inauguration. He’s just doing it so incredibly poorly that most of us don’t recognize it. His presidential is like a co-woekers impersonation of say, Sean Connery. Sure, they can “do” it but you wouldn’t know what they are doing if they didn’t tell you.

Mitch, giving a speech full of lies, misstatements and hyperbole no matter how well delivered is still a speech full of lies, misstatements and hyperbole and is hardly Presidential.

It is presidential to HAVE to do a speech to a joint session of congress ONE MONTH IN because that month has been such an unmitigated disaster that something had to be done to appear quasi presidential and non-puerile incompetent totally out of his depth. It is presidential to stand in front of a teleprompter and read a speech written for him by someone else, full of lies, because in comparison to his first month and his compulsive morning bowel movement tweets, well, this was sort of presidential. Just like the Mexico trip during the campaign was sort of kind of presidential. If you look at it soft focus in your peripheral vision and dont listen to the actual words. Yes. Presidential. Quite.

Generally Mitch a POTUS goes for some substance and outlines detail in a speech like this. Not this guy. And what was that about a dead soldier being happy about an ovation? I honor the troops but that was a bit over the top.
I couldn’t bring myself to watch it. But I do know Mitch McConnell would have said this, exactly this thing he said, if Trump had walked out naked, bitten the head off a live chicken and given a speech advocating pedophilia.

I saw only one 5 second snippet. That was enough. Most pundits would have been satisfied with your take as well though some would also have wanted a human sacrifice.
