There is a big difference between the two. In Pelosi’s case, the protests are concocted, stoked and pushed by Trump, almost on a daily basis.
In McConnell’s case, his own words and actions cause people’s blood to boil.

The GOP may have enlisted the so-called “Proud Boys”.

But the Democrats have the “Pissed Girls”…

Estrogen rules…

From the Proud Boys website:

How to Save America–
1 Abolish Prisons
2 Give Everyone a Gun
3 Legalize Drugs
4 End Welfare
5 Close Our Borders
6 Venerate the Housewife
7 Glorify the Entrepreneur
8 Shut Down the Government

Seems sort of Libertarian/Anarchist to me though the various parts comically contradict one another. Like, wouldn’t “Give Everyone a Gun” be a form of Welfare? “Venerate the Housewife” reveals a whole lotta insecurity.

For endorsing Trump’s incompetence, intolerance, personal and un-American values, while enabling a corroborative Republican Party and Judiciary supporting Gerrymandering, voter suppression, and restriction to game the voting system, Mitch the Turtle and his fellow treacherous cowardly Republicans deserve no respect or quarter.

This is cowardly, shameful behavior no matter what your party
I don’t want to see either of these persons subjected to this any time or place.

The Angry Right Wing Mob screams, “The Left is an angry communist mob…!!!” while pounding on locked doors, threatening the very safety of the target of their ire. One small step from, “She’s a WITCH! Burn her!!!”

While ONE person vents their anger in a restaurant, in an entirely non-threatening way?

Aaaand, of course the latter is “the mob”. Making America Gangster Again…

While I agree that all of it lowers the civil discourse to an unmanageable and unproductive place, I would caution against making equivalencies here. One person forcefully expressing their ire in a restaurant (however uncivil that is) is not remotely the same as an angry mob chasing a leading representative into a locked building, and raging at the doors. IT was the cries of “Witch!!” that really spooked me. As if that would justify a lynching or summary burning.

Mob mentality is a very dangerous thing. Especially in times as tribal as ours have become.

Pelosi was attacked by a mob of right wingers carrying signs, security was holding back those protestors, screaming she was a fucking communist, and it was not long after moron called Democrats an angry mob. McConnell was confronted by other customers as he sat in a restaurant and a security detail wasn’t in place. In fact it looks like Mitch and Elaine stayed to finish their meal.

What each of these persons experienced was very different.

@tribalogical It was the cries of “fucking communist” that disturbed me.

Gee, ONE was a manufactured and assembled ACTUAL mob and the other was a public shaming by a single constituent for cause.
When did republican men get to be such squishes?

It would be inhuman for mcTurtle not to feel remorse, shame, embarrassment, regret and fear. Most people would not be able to live like that. It’s also not a normal human characteristic to pretend it’s not happening. Donald Dump is an insane person and mcTurtle is right behind him.

One man. Three impassioned sentences (note: zero profanity or name calling), who then immediately turns away from McConnell and engages in a passionate debate with an entire table full of people he apparently knows… that’s how we do it.

Angry, “torches and pitchforks” mob, vitriolic shouted name-calling in a narrow alley, calling their target a witch and a fucking communist? That’s how they say we do it… And that’s also how they justify their own behavior.

And that’s a pretty good definition of “False Equivalency”.

Any questions…?

PS: Someone told the woman shooting the video that the guy threw food at McConnell. She said, “oh I didn’t see that”… And it wasn’t on the video. Not sure that was true… Didn’t see ‘scraps’ on the table either. How easily something becomes part of the “truth”, isn’t it?

FTFY…

Yeah, some billionaires just can’t get a break, huh?

Agree, and this is manufactured, not spontaneous.
